I’m not sure exactly when it happened but the documentation site has been bifurcated into “Essential” and “Expert”  I find that most of the time when I search the site it takes me to essential which almost never has what I am looking for.  Typically I would have to then navigate through the expert tree to find what I am looking for.Is there a way to limit where your searches happen?

Tapes are not write protected physically but commvault shows the tapes are bad and write protected for all the new tapes. any suggestion on this? 

My question: Can clients be member of two clusters? For instance, we have three hyperV hosts in a HyperV-cluster in Commvault - Can they also be a member of a Windows cluster at the same time?I tried adding the three HyperV hosts to a Windows cluster in Commvault, but it fails:Cluster group [test] configuration was saved on CommServe successfully.Remote nodes update failed: (Use force sync option to update the nodes later.)[Server1]. Hi everyone..  Scenario: On a VM, a decoupled package is installed in case of the VM owner decides to install some sort of database application on it. A DB IDA now needs to be installed to handle the DB backups.. The VM itself is ofc already being backed up by a VSA job.The backup admin can then simply "add client" and retrieve config from the client and then push whatever IDA is needed.  Question:How can one limit that the "add client" and retrieve config  can only be done from one specific Commcell? I mean, what could prevent me from starting up my rouge Commcell running on my laptop, connect the client and steal all the data by running a full FS backup before the REAL backup admin adds it to the REAL Commcell?   Might be a stupid question and maybe the fit of my tinfoil hat is way too tight.. :-) But my question is: Is there some way to configure the decoupled package so only "add client" requests from a specific C

Hi Everyone,One of the customer is looking for temperature monitoring data  for their available Hyperscale hardware where it can give min max average, trend etc. I  looked for available alerts from cv but couldn't find as such..  From below link it just give Operating ambient and non-operating temperature of hyperscale devices.. Good Afternoon, I have a few clients that when I try to associate with the subclient policy their backup-set does not show up. this is presumably because they are somehow not eligible to setup to use a subclient policy.Is there a way to make these clients eligible without losing data in the existing subclients? Thanks.Chris.

A Onedrive job is “completed with errors” and displaying the number 82 in the “Failed files” column.When getting the failed items list, “only” 77 items are displayed. Can we provide the customer with a good reason for this, why it says 82, but we can only show them 77..Like the files are too corrupted, and commvault is unable to display them or something..?

Hi all If I can just confirm something that I think makes sense.In my case, I have a Media Agent that only backed itself up and hosted it’s own DDB.This client no longer backs itself up. It’s retentions have all been met and no data resides on the Storage Policy or the DDB.I want to remove the alert in the Command Centre that notifies me the DDB isn’t being backed up.If I understand correctly, I just do the below in this order: Retire DDB using the ddb_sealing.xml Delete Storage Policy Delete Media Agent and associated Library? Thanks.Mauro 

I was trying to google some of the internal workflow entity information and I started to realize that Java itself provides a way of implementing workflows and that there are several third party workflow activity engines. That is to say a way to work on the workflows at a slightly lower level where the XML of the workflow is edited directly. The reason I ask is that I am looking for a way to manage not only the workflows but different reusable bits of the workflows like common SQL queries and custom bits of code for building java objects.If there is a third party engine in use then it becomes much easier to manager these elements. Thanks.Chris.

Hello All,I have to replicate the S3 cloud library (backed up data) to another S3 bucket in different region which can be achieved by Configuring Replication for Cloud Storage (https://documentation.commvault.com/11.25/expert/9279_configuring_replication_for_cloud_storage.html) Although I need a clarity on how it works.Step 1: As per my understanding I have to create two buckets with versioning enabled on it and I should configure two cloud libraries accessible by each media agent specific to the region where S3 is hosted.Step 2: We need to request the AWS admins to use the native replication to copy the backed up data to new S3. HI team, I would like to check on the VM file level restore via FREL, the restored file is not being placed in exactly what destination i have provided from the job- instead it creates a new folder called “Volumegroup” and it follows the destination path which i gave from the job and the data is being restored there? may i know is this a right behavior to create a folder ”volumegroup” automatically? could it be due to LVM disk this mounts and creates a folder like this? pls help

Hi, We are doing streaming VSA App Aware SQL backups in VMware. In the Storage Policy - Snap Copy we can see the snap-jobs and they seems to contain VSS snapshots.After the Backup Copy the VSA and SQL jobs are listed in the Storage Policy - Primary Copy. I have set the Snap Copy with no retention (Spool) and the Backup Copy is retained for 30 Days  The question is if the Snap Copy job is required or used for restores? Is there a recommendation for the Snap Copy retention when doing streaming App Aware jobs?  Regards,Patrik

Hi Commvault Community, i would like to see, if anyone else is facing the same Issue. We have a few customer that are still using Tapes to move weekly/monthy Backups to a save location.With the change to “forever incremental” they are now facing a big issue to collect all the backups of the agent on to the exported tape. There is no process to generate a Synth. Full or everything likewise.One customer is still holding on to the “old” exchange one-pass classic agent, so he don’t lose the Synth Full Options.Another customer is manually creating a new Storage Policy Copy every month to get all the Backups on the same tape.We have shared this problem a few months ago, we even had a talk at the GO 2019 with dev. Back then we there told there will be a solution on its way, we could expect it for SP20. Now we are at SP26 and there is still no option for these customer.

Hello Everyone,We have a huge fileserver and currently we are backingup to AWS S3 and this is becoming tough for us to backup within the window. We tried to use storage accelerator, but that didn’t work as expected.We wanted to have a local copy first and then move ( not copy)  it to cloud as data is huge. How can we achieve this on a daily basis - take a backup locally and then move to cloud.Please advise.
