Require script to move the tape from vault to primary partition in commvault

Hello All,I would like to know is there any way to migrate from commvault complete (Azure)to Metallic SaSS?I mean we would like to migrate the backed up data from commvault complete(Azure) to Metallic SaSS.Please suggestRegardsAnanth

Hi,Our customer has an Oracle 12 DB with 9TB of capacity. RMAN gets a backup of 1.5TB because of compression.Does Commvault support RMAN compression? I mean, besides Commvault’s own client and MediaAgent compression, can Commvault just take that 1.5TB compressed by RMAN and put it in the library? Thanks!Sergio

However, we couldnt browse for the content of subclient and therefore it s not possible to create or add new content to subclient. If the credentials are needed, where should be filled in?  

Hello,The Commcell from my customer has no access to Internet,The release 11.24.42 is still not available from cloud.commvault.com or from Miantenance Advantage web site. Hey @Mario NTT We have the same similar questions as you.   We are wanting to upgrade the (commserve 11.24.x) python 3.9.2 to 3.9.5 as we have a vulnerability with 3.9.2version.   We are wondering if we should just totally uninstall 3.9.2 before the 3.9.5 install as I dont believe a python install will do an upgrade but just an install. ThanksBC

I have 2 hopefully related questions to tape writing/usage. please pardon my ignorance :)I am seeing tapes that are “never being written to again” and are not full at all with this message “Marked full/appendable due to media group switching to a different data path”. My assumption is that the tape was writing, and then something happened to the job… but shouldn’t it not be “marked” as anything, and just be ‘appendable” until its full?  We have ( in the tape library properties) “mark media appendable” and “use appendable media” set to 90 days”. These tapes are not > 90 days old.  is there a way to unmark them or not cause them to be marked “full/appendable” (whatever that means? why full and also appendable?) In the docs for “Default Scratch” media group, I see these settings (below).  I want to have any tape that’s “not full yet”  to be picked before any other “completely empty” tapes.  What setting should I choose? The ‘reused” and “recycled” terms below don’t make sense to me. Cu

Hi,looking at OnePass we can comfortably do a client-based browse and list all versions of files within a given time range. I was wondering if it is possible to include file versions into a (one) Synthetic Full job. I haven’t seen an option, but deleted files are included.So assuming one Synth Full a month (and subsequent aux-to-tape) - this would allow for viewing and restoring versions within one month from one job ID, even if incremental jobs on disk have long aged out.Can we do that?  

Hello,I have some old jobs in a legacy library that i’m trying to remove. But this jobs are retained (i don’t know when or why) because backup policy (DR system creted) has WORM enabled.“Retain until” date from this jobs is over… data aging task do nothing. And i can’t modify this jobs manually¿Any help? Tell me if more info neededThanks

We are running 11.25.19. We have Windows media agents with the Ransomware protection enabled. We are also configuring our Linux Media agents for ransomware protection. Currently our libraries are CIFS shares on Storeonces. We are planning to move to HPe catalyst Stores. With our current ransomware protection in place, does Commvault provide ransomware protection on Windows media agents using Catalyst mount paths and /or will the Linux Media continue to provide ransomware protection for Catalyst mount paths. Or will we lose all ransomware protection once we move to catalyst? 

Hi Community, We are trying to implement an air gap with commvault, the customer wants to have its replication done to an offline site.Following documentation about the process and its feasibility with commvault, I came through network topologies and understood that the best thing to implement is the One-Way topology, which will implies that the MA located in the offline site will be the one that will establish the communication between the offline site and the production one.I have gaps in understanding this process, since, let's say, the replication is orchestrated by the CS, when the time has come for the replication, how the MA can know that it's the right moment to establish the connection ? And even for recovery/restore, how can the CS orchestrate it when the MA is offline. Please to apologize for my ignorance, knowing that this is the first time I am doing this.Any help or explanations would be much appreciated. Regards.

I recently ran into a problem where someone pushed an update to a client running V10 of the software because the OS/Application was EOL as of V11. Naturally this broke the client, and the only way to get it fixed was via a reboot. This is one of those systems that pretty much never get rebooted so it was something of a big deal.  I assume there is some additional setting out there that will allow blocking upgrades and updates. LMK. Thanks.Chris.
