Hi, have anyone made a script or used cli commands to control the procedure of shutting down an entire commserve environment in windows.I suppose you can do most of the stopping services with windows powershell , but how to disable all activity in commserve. 

Hello, We have very bad performance for our backup environment.  Slow running DDB’s, high Q&I etc. We found out that we have 10 times lessor IOPS for our Media Agents .  What is the procedure to increase IOPS for the existing Media agents ?

I currently have a S3 bucket that is configured for Standard which is not our best practice. I want to change the data in the bucket to One Zone-IA to match the new uploads coming from the site. Can that be done via the S3 bucket or what is a good recommendation? I am trying to avoid a whole new upload form the site.

Is there a reason that the “Latest Fixes for Current Release:” is much lower than the actual latest maintenance release?  For example, my current “Latest Fixes for Current Release:” is 11.24.34 but 11.24.43 was released April 5th?  I’m thinking I might have to upgrade to 11.24.34 first then onto 11.24.43, is this the case?

Is there a way to search for released clients in the job summary reports ? Would someone that Commvault think about putting button that is unchecked by default to show client that are released.

Noticed FR26 delivered a cloud library configuration setting seen from within Command Center named "Cache configurations".Can someone enlighten me what it is and what it does? I can't find any information on the documentation site. 

We have recently started using the “Only Backup files created or modified on and after” option with our subclients.  Its a great feature however I can only seem to set it by going to each server one by one.  Is there a scrip that I can run with a list of servers to set this option for all subclients on that server along with the time zone and date in one go?  We only want to roll this feature out to certain servers in batches, which is why I am hoping there is a scrip to do this.  Thank you for any help you can give.

I ma getting backup failure in our openstack vm’s due to Insufficient cinder quota to create VM Snapshot: Failed to meet minimum 10 percent avaliable quota limit. Available: 176 GB, Required: 500 GB, In-Use: 4824 GB (out of 5000).  Is there away to increase cinder volume and as well as decrease the cinder quota( where to do this)?

I’m trying to backup a virtual server but I got the following error.Error Code: [19:857]Description: Error creating virtual machine snapshot. The operation is not allowed in the current state of the host. I have few endpoints which are offline at time scheduled backup due to person being in field.I want those backup to auto start after 1 hour if the scheduled backup fails how can i do that?  

Is there a way to do an LDAP search from within a workflow?I don’t mean using something like powershell. The Commserve can be configured for LDAP authentication, is there any way to use that same LDAP connection to do a query?  

Whether Oracle DB Version 11.2, 12.1 compatible with CommVault 11.20 to take Oracel/DB Level backups. Please provide compatability list for the same

Folks,I believe the answer might be Intellisnap but figured I’d ask the Community. My DBAs are having a hard time being able to restore a 7TB database. We have restore timeouts set to 24 hours which is a lot of time. I understand that SQL restores will only use 1 thread. I am aware of some of the tuning params for SQL backups but is there anything we can do to speed up restores on the Commvault side for large DB restores? We get excellent read throughput on the storage side per mountpath (around 1500 MB/s).I’ve been told Intellisnap is the way but I might not get support to go down that road. Thank you

Noob SQL query. Can SQL Transaction log backups be performed using different backup solutions, such as Commvault and native log backup?We have a customer who performs tlog backups every hour and a daily full backup using SSMS native backup tool (not a copy-only backup).AppAware is also used to run a full Snapcopy backup of MS SQL on commvault.The customer has requested that transaction log backups in Commvault be performed every 15 minutes in addition to the hourly native log backups. My understanding is that if we use separate backup solutions, we might end up with one solution containing one chunk of log backup data and the other containing another chunk of data.As a result, neither solution has a consistent chain that allows for point-in-time recovery.Is my understanding correct?Could someone please suggest the best solution to this?Should I ask the customer to disable native backups and rely solely on Commvault due to its ease of use in restoring?  Thank you.

I'm new to Commvault and SQL and could use some help.  Our organisation is considering making the switch from native SQL server administration tools to CommVault's enterprise backup/recovery solution. I gathered the following information from the change request: We use local backup Maintenance plan in SQL server. There is a native daily full backup scheduled at 6 p.m., as well as a transaction log backup scheduled every hour, with a retention of 7 days.  Management is planning on doing SQL backups (daily full + transaction log) using Commvault and will be disabling all native SQL backup jobs once Commvault backups are configured. At any point in time they do not want to overlap the transaction log backup scheduled between the two solution to avoid backup chain breaks. On CommVault side they are planning to do both Agent and VSA Appaware backups. They want to do high transaction db backups using agent and dev SQL DB backup using app aware to save on licensing cost. I have a couple of qu

We have been using Azure Storage accounts as offsite libraries for years.   We fully take advantage of cool storage tier, but with our usage history, I would like to start setting the Commvault Azure Libraries to archive storage tier.   What is the best way to get the blobs assigned to the archive tier?  I assume that only new written data will have archive and the rest will have COOL, until it is pruned.  Retention varies from 1 year to upwards of 10years.  Is there a native workflow available, or should I think about creating a new library and AUX copy the data into the new configuration.  

HiI have been search Commvault documentation and I could not fine an answer on my question, that´s why I am asking here. I want to create an Intellisnap of an ibm db2 database running on an AIX server. After the Intellisnap has been done, I want to move an backup of the Intellisnap to an hyperscale X device. So the backup data is not in the storage array. Would it be possible to mount the Intellisnap directly on the hyperscale X device to sent the backup data from the Intellisnap to the same hyperscale X device? Thanks in advance!
