Hi Team, Is there a way to have two approvers in the authorization workflows(delete job, delete client, delete storage policy workflows etc.)? Until both did not authorize the approval email, deletion should not happen.

One of my CV client backups started failing.  When I checked the ports from the CS\MA port 8401 is refusing to connect.  On the client side is exhibiting the same problem with port 8401 communication failure.  I was informed by one of my teammates that a certificate issue on the client side can cause this type of behavior.  If this is true, how can I resolve this and is there a document that would explain a certificate issue? Thanks.

Hi,relative to Delete authorization / Restore authorization  in Metallic Security IQ.Will this process work if there is only one user/administrator ie. a single client?In the remarks it says: “When this setting is enabled, restore requests will require approval from another administrator, providing extra privacy protection. Hi folks..  Scenario:- An system owner registers a client into a Commcell.- The system owner realizes that he registered it into a wrong Commcell. - The system owner wants to register into the right Commcell WITHOUT uninstalling /installing the IDAs again. Is there any way to "flush" the client config on the client itself so it can run the registration process again, this time targeting the correct Commcell?  Thank you for any input you might have....  Kind regardsRubeck

Hello Team,I need to fetch data for schedule policy and using below apis *a* and *b* for thathttps://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/48764_rest_api_get_schedule_policy.html. Tried with http://<webservice>/SchedulePolicy on browser but this throws 404 error code.whereas http://<webconsole>/webconsole/api/Schedules?clientId=2 this works fine without any error.Can you please help me with below queries:Are these both a and b api(s) return same data?  Need help on why “404 Not found” message while hitting api ‘a’ on browser?

Good Day, I have noticed that when Connecting to the Admin Console it throws me a bunch of errors and it displays this “Unable to load the data from server.” Also when trying to access he Console it gives me this web page “HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.” All services are started and i have rebooted the server aswell.

Hello, After Installation Media Agent in AZURE the next step is configuration VSA backup client for on of the subscription where the Media Agent is located. I checked the roles which were added to subscription for the Media Agents: Infrastructure Administrator Networking Infrastructure AdministratorMedia Agent has enabled Managed Identity, Which is required for access VSA proxy server to subscription. After when my colleague try to configure VSA client. He received the error: “Unable to connect to Virtual Machine host [ID number for subscription] as user [].  [Failed to get access token. Connection failed.“Please let me know when I should take a look more details about that issue or steps to verify configuration for the Media Agent. 

Are there any issue and/or does Commvault support the CommServe in allowing VMware to Vmotion the CommServe from one esx server to another esx server while the Commvault CommServe services are running? Thanks

HiWe are building new datastore’s on a new storage array. We used many 4 TB datastores in VMWare which would limit the amount of VM’s within the datastore for the backups. We are thinking about doubling the size of our datastore’s to 8 TB considering the size of VM’s now a days. My question being is there a best practice or a max number of VM’s within a datastore backup using the IntelliSnap process? Are we better off using many 4 TB datastores versus fewer 8 TB datastores for VMWare IntelliSnap backup’s? ThanksNeil

Hi,I have a question about compression.We have a some oracle databases for which we create an online full every night. When we check the data transfered from the host to the media agent, we can see a much higher number than what is actually written to disk.EDIT:This is an example: Deduplication seems to be working fine, and also compression. I know deduplication happens on the host/client side.Does compression happen on the host or on the media agent? If it’s on the media agent, that would explain the high transferred data number, as it needs to read it from the host to compress it on the media agent.I looked through books online, but couldn’t find a definitive answer. If anyone knows, I would appreciate it.Jeremy

Hi there,I would like to discuss following issue. In the content of the backup subclient there is a bunch of VMs. Unfortunately, some of the VMs are from time to time disabled from backup, some of them are powered off, some of them can not be snapshotted due to SRM. It leads to the problems with aging of the backup jobs mainly due to cycle rules.My question is how to handle this situation and to enable data aging of backup jobs on tapes when VMs in the vcenter cannot be backed up for some time. As per my assumption, the only solution is to set retention cycle to 0. What is your approach for such circumstances?

Hello Community, After few days one of the Media Agent in AZURE for one subscription issue occurred with Backup Copy jobs for File Servers which size is about 22 TB. Only info which occurred in Events logs is: Received failed message for job [3155290], phase [Backup]I am looking for reason of that error. After that the jobs started from begning.Please let me know when I should look for more details for that the job. Regards, Michal 

Hi, We are deconfiguring a TapeLibrary in one Commcell and want to make a clean setup in a different Commcell and reuse the tapes. We do not want to migrate MediaAgents or save data. We did configure the TapeLib in the new Commcell but got issues as the tapes indicates that they belongs to a different Commcell. What would be the correct way to make the tapes reusable or turn up as new tapes in the new Commcell?  Regards,Patrik

Hi All,VM backups with "Warning Unable to quiesce guest file system during snapshot creation" are shown as "Completed".I see it changed about two months ago in a CommCell running 11.24. Before that change the backups statuses were shown as “Completed w/ one or more errors”.Currently I see VM backups with warning about unsuccessful quiescing reported as “Completed” in 11.24 and 11.26. Is it possible to make the backup jobs with "Warning Unable to quiesce guest file system during snapshot creation" beeing shown as “Completed w/ one or more errors”? Or how could I find/report/list such backup jobs? Regards,Lubos
