As our Community scales and Commvault's product portfolio continues to evolve, it's important that we take steps to curate and optimize our content and knowledge sharing.
This summer, we are launching a rolling community clean-up effort focused on archiving older threads and marking more questions with a "Best Answer" where appropriate. Don't worry—we won't be deleting any content. Instead, we'll be migrating the older content to an Archive section and resolving older threads to help create a cleaner experience that highlights more current and relevant information and helps improve search results, both within the community and through external search engines.
What to expect
In late July, we will roll out a new Archive section in the Commvault Community. This Archive will be accessible to all registered Community members, but you will need to be logged in to view and search it.
The Community team will then gradually migrate older and outdated threads and announcements to the Archive section, starting with the oldest content first. As noted above, all archived content will remain searchable and available to registered / authenticated users, and you'll still be able to find information across categories.
You may also notice or receive occasional notifications as updates are made.
You will no longer be able to reply against threads in the Archive section, so you'll need to start a new topic if there's an older thread you want to revisit or reference. (This will also give your new question or comment better visibility to our team, replies against older topics sometimes get missed.)
Want to help?
We'd love your support! (But no obligation!)
If you want to pitch in or have suggestions, here are some ways you can help us curate.
- Identify and mark “Best Answers” on unresolved questions using our filtering tools.
How to find unanswered questions:
- Use the Search bar (first screenshot below) to find threads by keyword, product, or topic.
- Use the filters on the left in the second screenshot (such as Question, Community Category, or Tags) to narrow your results and quickly locate unresolved questions that may still need a Best Answer.
- If you come across a thread that you think should be archived or updated, send us a reply (or DM me (Sougato Roy) or Jennifer directly).
- Have other questions, feedback, or suggestions for improving the knowledge sharing experience? Please reach out—we'd love to hear from you.
Thank you for helping us keep the Community organized, useful, and easy to navigate for everyone.

What content is being archived?
We'll begin moving the oldest, inactive content into the Archive, including:
- Discussion topics and Q&A that are years old and no longer active
- Historical Commvault announcements from the News & Events and Platform Updates sections
Again, this is an organizational update only - no content is being removed or deleted.
What does this mean for our members?
Your archived content will remain:
- Searchable within the Community, but with better filters
- Accessible to all registered members
- Available as a valuable knowledge resource should you wish to refer back
Whether you're looking for past discussions, product information, or historical announcements, the Archive will continue to serve as a trusted reference.
Why archive?
Our goal is simple: create a cleaner, more intuitive Community experience.
By moving older content into a dedicated Archive, we'll:
- Make it easier to find current conversations and announcements
- Improve navigation and search across the community
- Preserve years of valuable technical knowledge in an organized way
- Create more space for new discussions and fresh ideas
Your contributions are what make this community such a valuable resource, and we're committed to continuously improving your experience. Thank you for being an important part of the Commvault Community!
As always, we welcome your feedback and look forward to continuing to learn, share, and grow together.
