We have several DDB’s, all partitioned across several media agents. When the DDB backups run, I’m seeing most of the Media agents doing a backup for “themselves” meaning the client and Media agent are the same when the DDB backup runs.  But for one of them, I cannot seem to get the DDB backup copy to choose the primary/default media agent (in the copy → data paths settings), to do any of the DDB backups, it always chooses the alternate media path for both DDB backup partitions.I have *not* yet chosen the “use preferred data path” setting (where it should only? use the primary media argent and not use any alternates) as I feel that it should choose the primary and it would auto choose the secondary media agent for the other partition if it needs to.Also: I want the DDBBackups to be slit over 2 media agents because 1 media agent is very overpowered (lots of CPU/memory) relative to the other (older and few CPU’s).  The media agent the DDB backups is choosing is this underpowered media age

Hi, I am wondering which port is needed to use the command line from a different machine than the CommServe. Is it for example the same port as for the CommCell Console, port 8401?Thanks!

Few quick questions regarding some pre-defined CV console alerts. I am unable to find this information online Unusual job activity alert. What does code 14:300 mean? This is default as the alert is enabled Do we need to expanded this alert to include more codes? Increase in data size Does this include alerting on VSA and NDMP as well? If no to above, would we have to install an iData agent on each VM to allow alerting? Thank you for your time

Thank you all in advance for the input.  (first time poster)I have an issue I can’t figure out and I’m tired of beating my head against the wall.  We are moving away from using tapes as our secondary copy (archive copy).  We have recently setup Azure cloud storage policy copies for our archive.  I have attempted to mirror the policy copy settings between the tape and cloud copies as much as possible.  We have 3 copies - weekly, monthly, and yearly, each with a different retention, and 3 different storage policies.  We started with the weekly copy and all seemed to be well.  When I created the monthly and yearly copies, the job selections didn’t meet my expectations.  A few examples:  duplicate jobs would show up in the weekly and monthly, or monthly and yearly.  Meaning a job that I would expect to a monthly (first weekend of the month) was in the weekly job list. The yearly jobs don’t seem correct at all.  We want the first weekend in Feb of every year to be our yearly copy.  However

Hello All !I am trying to find a way to get the state of the CommCell JobSchedulerCommCell Properties → Activity Control → Enable Scheduler by using REST-API calls, but I am unable to find any calls that show this state.The reason is that I want to have a repeating  Alert if the Scheduler is disabled. I know I can get an alert for disabled/enabled by the Events19:656 Enabled19:655 DisabledBut these are one-time alerts which may drown in all other alerts. So I am looking for a REST-API call where i can Get the state of the Scheduler to be able to catch the state in a repeating script. I have a question about “quick look”.Two different users perform the same operation and click the "Quick Look" button in Outlook without the add-in and the effect is that one user generates such a link and it works (the message from the archive is fine).and another user generates such a link (which does not work)I don't quite understand why these two users have different link syntax. HelloI need to upgrade our 11.22.62 commvault version to the 11.24 feature release. I can just do this via the commcell gui correct?   Kind of like the way I install the maintenance releases etc except this will be a feature release.?   I plan on doing commserve/media server first then the clients.. or are you suppose to perform the feature release upgrade a different way? Please advise.. thanks in advance!BC

Hey all - we are using encryption on our S3 library in AWS.  Is it a best practice to also enable software encryption on the primary copy?  For the encryption of the backup data going to S3, is there a specific encryption type I can find somewhere that is in use? This is in my storage policy Primary copy properties. This is just an example of where I found the setting….

I installed the Linux Package. (file system, MediaAgent) Media Agent is online immediately after installation. But after about 5 minutes, it becomes offline. (Not working on anything)Do you have any advice?
