we need to change commvault ,sql and DB installation path from C drive to d Drive , what is recommended way

In order to change the path of commvault installation path, you need to completely uninstall commvault software and reinstall to the new location.

Note: Please take a DR backup before performing this activity

@Nutan Pawar G while uninstalling will i loose already backed up data, my commserv machine has media agent as well, 

so i will take DR backup

uninstall commserv

install again

restore the DR DB

When your Commserve is also a Media agent, there are many other factors that you need to keep in mind before uninstalling and reinstalling.

 

We need to make sure that DDB, Index Cache and Disk library mount paths are not present under the installation folder. (In your case it is C drive)

 

If they are on C drive, you need move the DDB and Index cache directory to a new location

 

With regards to the DDBs, The recommended method here would be to utilize the DDB Move process within Commvault to copy over the DDBs to the new locations. Once this runs and completes we will automatically update the GUI and use the DDB in the new location.
