The upgrade to the latest maintenance release failed.  I believe it is because Commvault thinks it is running Centos7.  Can I change the OS information in Commvault or do I have to remove the client and re-add it?

Thanks,

Tuesday

Hi Tuesday,

great name :-)

The OS of a Client in Commvault is discovered during initial installation and registration to the CommCell only, so I’m afraid a complete uninstall and re-install is required here when following the official recomendation.

However, there might be a way how this can be changed via SQL script/query by our Support, so I’d recommend opening a ticket and asking for this.

Regards,

Markus

Hi Marcus,

Thanks so much. And thanks for getting back to me.  I am new to Commvault.  I did reinstall and reconfigured all the ports and things are working again. :)

Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

Tuesday
