Hi, I want to plan and do Commvault LIveSync Planned failover -

Can I continue backup jobs from the commserver which  is  Failover commserver  .After planned failover

or can it only be read

Hi @BillyBoo,

After a planned failover, the new active CommServe (failover CommServe) can continue to handle backup jobs. It is not limited to read-only operations. This allows for seamless continuity of backup operations even after a failover event.

You can refer the below document for more reference on planned failovers.

https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/expert/planned_failovers.html

Please let me know in case of any queries.

Regards,

Karthik

Hi @BillyBoo ,

A production failover enables backup and restore jobs to run as expected, either from the DR machine or the failover server

Refer below document for more details on failover types.
