Good morning guys!

Doubts best practices for removing a VM from the backup routine.

Would it just be disabling it in Activity control or using retire?

Hello @Marcos Silva

You can simply remove the VM from the sub client if it's a snapshot-based backup.

If it's a FS agent-based backup, you can release the license for it. Retiring the client will also uninstall the packages on the client and can be used as per your requirement. If you delete the client, the data associated to it will also be deleted.

You can disable the backup from the activity control, but it will still consume a license.

Best,

Rajiv Singal
