Install SP24 search engine with SP32 Commerve

Hello,

we need a hardware refresh of search engines and there is no indexing anymore. All agents that were indexed are not active anymore. So we only have to keep the old index. The Commerve is on SP32. I tried to do all steps described here:

The installation of the search engine (SP24 package) failed with an error: 

8080  1     02/28 09:18:31 ### ### ### - Server Error:  (Error) Paket [Search Engine] is no longer supported in the current version. Please refer to the documents or contact your software provider for information on alternative options. [67109659].

I am struggling around with Commvault support, the only question I have: How to install the old search engine (SP24 package) with an SP32 Commserve? Is there an addional setting?

Hi @ThomasG 

Search engine is deprecated on the latest version. 
For similar and enhanced functionality, recommend that you upgrade existing clients to content index data using an Index Server and use the Command Center application for compliance searches.

Hello Pradeep,

I know this already. This is not possible, because there is no new agent for indexing. And my question was an other.

How to install the old search engine (SP24 package) with an SP32 Commserve? Is there an addional setting?

We need the old search engine data.

We may need to configure it has secondary instance with Sp24 media and install search engine package and register it has client with SP32

SP24 end of support is in June. So would strongly recommend you upgrade to FR32:

Hi Pradeep,

we want to install the search engine on new nodes and it failed, see my first question. And would you explain what do you mean with second instance and register with SP32?

Development has confirmed, they must not use /compliancesearch (old portal). It is deprecated.

Use command-center ->compliance-search.

Engineering can allow that. We will escalate it formally to them to look further into it.
