Hello @Pawel

The documentation is a bit behind when it comes to the Expect section with any reference to O365 and i’m sorry for the confusion it has cased.
All O365 agents are Command Center only now and must be configurated and managed in the Command center. Here is the link you want to follow:

Hello @Pawel

My understanding that there is not any migration available.

The move from the On-prem SharePoint agent to the O365 agent came with a number of huge changed. The first being Forever Incremental backups and item based retention. These features are required to minimise duplicate data read and almost always our main bottle neck is Microsoft.

The steps i know are you create the new agent to backup the data and disable the old agent to have it for restores only.

NOTE: With all the hotfix’s that are released very frequently in O365 specifically i recommend you being on FR32.X where X is the current latest MR before configuring the new agent. Will make everything move smoother.

Kind regards
