reassign media tape to another commcell

Hello,

I have some tapes not assigned to the good commcell, do to librairie with different partition.

How can I remove the tape from commcell 1 and assign this tape to commcell 2 ?

Good day!

 

Have you shared the TL across two commcell? 

 

If not, then make sure the tape hasn’t written data via commcell 1 then you can load the media on the TL that present on the commcell 2.

Hi Arunkumar,

I have 1 librairie with 2 partitions and only LTO8 drive

p1: for commcell 1 with tape in 100XXXXX label

p2: for commcell 2 with tape in 200XXXXX label

 

a mistake was done when someone insert tape with 100XXXXX into the partition 2.

Commault has already used these tapes but now the retention of these tapes is over.

So I just want to delete tape association of Commcell 2 and insert this tape into the partition 1 and hope commcell one detect new tape dor default scratch and not with this issue : “Media belongs to a different CommCell.”

Good day! 
 

If the jobs are aged on the tape then you can insert the tape to partition 1 and start using it which will be detected as a scratch tape only.
