Hello Guys,

Recently, we deployed the Commvault solution, when we insert new tapes and perform the Media Init from the Tape Library, all tapes inserted are on Red Icon Status, could you please share with me what’s the meaning of this ? if someone was exposed to this case.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nassim,

Are these media’s brand new ?

Ideally the media will be marked as bad when the MA is unable to read or write on the media. We may need to check on the properties of the tape to get more details

Ref: https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/media_properties.html

Can you please raise a case with commvault so that Media expertise team can have a look on the issue

Regards,

Sureshkumar S
