SAP HANA full backup could not be completed: [110006]

Hi Guys,

We are using on-premisse solution, on version 11.28.56. We have several SAP HANA servers which are backed up without any issue. But one of our HANA server full database backup fails since a while.

Logcommand line backups and Incremential backups are succeed, but Full backups always ended with the folloving error:

"Error code:[18:146]

Description: SAP HANA Error [hdbsql execution Failed. /usr/sap/HC6/HDB20/exe/hdbsql -t -U BACKUP -d SYSTEMDB -C "backup data for BC6 using backint ('1134257_COMPLETE_DATA_BACKUP') TOOLOPTION 'BACKUP -j 1134257 -a 2:901 -t 1 -jt 1134257:4:1:0:0:5873 -data -at 135 -d kaz0vwma04.emea.whchem.com*KAZ0VWMA04*8400 -vm Instance001 -cn SAPHC6DB'"* 447: backup could not be completed: [110006] $number$, $errtxt$; $msg$=Timeout while waiting for network response SQLSTATE: HY000]."

After this message the job goes to Pending state, and resumed in a while as usual. Then, data copy started again, but at the end the same error appears.

Do you have any ideas what can cause it? Should I increase timeout parameter somewhere?

Hi Guys,

The solution was to increase HANA system resources (add more CPU). HANA backup became faster, can be finished within 24 hours and Full backup succeed.

I will skip connectivity since the incremental backup is already working fine.

Could you check if this path exists? If it does, try resetting the SAP service user password.

“/usr/sap/HC6/SYS/global/hdb/backint/DB_BC6” path exists, but there are no any file in this folder. It exists only during backup?

I’ll inform our SAP admin to reset the SAP service user password.

Sorry for my late answer, but there were other tasks. But, we have realized something. HANA backup failed in every 24 hours.
Currently running backup job started at 2025.02.14. 23:00. The first failed message is at 2025.02.15. 23:01. 24 hours later.
Job resumed at 2025.02.15. 23:27 and failed again at 2025.02.16. 23:29. 24 hours later again.
Is it means, one HANA backup job can't be longer than 24 hours? Because it looks like failed, stoped on HANA side.
