Hello Community !

I have a commserve on premise primary site cs01

Primary MA on primary site ma01 with DAS (Storage pool with dedup enabled)

Secondary MA on the secondary site ma02 with LUN presented for disk library (Storage pool with dedup enabled)

I want to simulate a manual full DR on secondary site without impacting the production. I don’t want to use the livesync for the moment.

The idea is to build a new commserve on a isolated environment, import the DR backup Database to the new cs01

copy the Media agent ma02 VM on the isolated env

then I’ll have the new cs01 and the media agent on the seconcary site isolated environnement

What about the DDB and Index cache

What I know is the DDB isn’t necessary to perform restores.

Maybe additionnal steps are required ?

Thanks for the help !

Testing the CommServe Recovery process in an isolated environment is a great idea, but I would generally recommend against trying to use a production MediaAgent / backup data as part of that testing.

I feel like the effort would be better spent implementing CommServe LiveSync, which can better facilitate that kind of testing.
