HI All,

In our environment the synthetic backup is taking long time, after we migrate the Storage to the Exagrid system from Netapp solutions.

From memory, Exagrid is a deduplication storage appliance, so read performance is generally lower if run deduplication on the Exagrid - and use commvault dedupe at the same time. This is because DASH copy/full can be read intensive, and deduplication appliance are known to be lower in performance on random reads. Exagrid gets around this by having a non-deduplicating ‘landing zone’ for backup data, but I doubt it would be big enough to hold a full cycle of data required for a dash full operation across your clients.

Just a hunch, but you’d have to look at the performance numbers to narrow down the issue - but I have seen similar performance issues with data domain etc.

Hi Nik,

Best is to log a support case so we can review the logs and find the bottleneck. This can vary from DDB performance to read\write issues on storage etc.
