the customer wants to backup some clients through a gateway. We did the configuration of gateway client and network topology.
The main problem is that the customer wants only Commserve to communicate with clients through proxy. Backup was failing because there was no communication to media agent as the customer picked only myCommserve group in the network topology.
So we did share paths from media agent to the Commserve. It was still failing because the client couldn’t reach DDB on media agent. So then we have changed deduplication from ‘On Client’ to ‘on Media Agent’. Now the buckup is running but never ends. It stucked on 25%.
Can we configure backup through a proxy but allow only Commserve to communicate with the client by using share mount paths to Commserve?
If not is there any other way to meet customers requirements?
