Hi Community,

when I read the documentation for best practices for SMTP journaling, i found that it is recommended to use one journal  contact for not duplicating the journal reports, also it is recommended to have 2 ContentStore Mail Server (SMTP)  for high availability and load balancing.

so is that means that i have to create 2 SMTPs with 1 common journal contact?

if no, how commvault will connect the 2 SMTPs together?

Hello @Hadeel

All of the configuration when using multiple nodes is configured on the SMTP Dashboard:

https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/configuring_contentstore_mail_server_smtp.html

In this location you will set it up once and input the details of both of the nodes. This is how Commvault knows the nodes and the shared locations and such.

Kind regards

Albert Williams
