Restoring a virtual machine directly from Azure portal - using commvault snapshot

Hi All,

One small query, generally during VM based backup, commvault creates disk snapshot in azure - OS disk snapshot.

Is it possible to create VM directly from the Azure portal using commvault created OS disk snapshot - like

  1. creating disk from that commvault snapshot and
  2. build VM using the new created disk.

is this approach feasible, or can it be restored using commvault tool only.

Hi Vikas,

Yes, you can create a VM from snapshots generated by Commvault in the Azure portal. This process is similar to working with traditional snapshots created directly in Azure.

Please ensure that you do not delete any snapshots created by Commvault, as doing so could impact your backups.
