Hello guys, can you help me with a topic,

I need to add a kvm environment to be backed up in commvault, currently there is already an ovm environment, but I don't know if I need to add more licenses, there are 17 virtual machines in that environment.

Hi @Boris Montoya,

You would be best served engaging your account manager to confirm what your license covers. If you are not sure who this is, feel free to DM me with your CCID details.

As far as i’m aware, these machines would fall under ‘virtual operating instance’ license component, but you’d have to check your license to see how much you have available/how much you’ve consumed.

You can run a license report to see this information: https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/114664_virtual_operating_instances_in_license_summary_report_02.html

Have a review and let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,
