Good morning everyone, I wanted to ask whether CBT technology is used when backing up a VM on HPE Morpheus HVM to perform incremental backups, or whether each backup is effectively a full backup. Thank you.

Hi Luca82,

Currently Commvault does not have CBT support for Morpheus. Development are aware of this shortcoming but there’s no ETA on the feature at the moment.

It is worth noting that without CBT backups are only effectively a full backup regarding read operations. This is because the complete volume data is read, compared to the previous incremental using CRC and then the changed data is written to backup storage. So it’s not backing up the complete data set but it does read it each time.
