Good morning,

I have the following question to ask:
In a Disaster Recovery scenario, how do I restore a VM from the Metallic backup to a new infrastructure? In my case in a new Nutanix cluster?

Thank you
Carmine

Hello @Carmine Bollettino

Can you confirm if the data was originally protected with Nutanix as well?

If it is across Hypervisor’s, these are the ones we support:

https://docs.metallic.io/metallic/cross_hypervisor_restores_vm_conversion.html

if the data was originally protected on the same type of hypervisor and you are moving them to a brand new one you have to configure the new Hypervisor and then it will be a valid target for restore by following these steps:

Setup steps:

https://docs.metallic.io/metallic/configuring_backups_for_nutanix_ahv.html
Restore steps:

https://docs.metallic.io/metallic/restoring_full_virtual_machines_for_nutanix_acropolis.html

Kind regards
