Metallic® ThreatWise™ SaaS Migration FAQ

What's new?

On November 8th, Metallic, Commvault’s game-changing SaaS-delivered data protection portfolio, is becoming part of the Commvault Cloud. To learn more about the move visit the full Metallic - Commvault Cloud FAQ

How does this impact Metallic ThreatWise?

One year ago, Commvault purchased the ThreatWise technology (formerly DeceptionGrid) and launched it under our Metallic data protection portfolio. Now, ThreatWise will join the rest of the Metallic service catalog as it becomes part of our new Commvault Cloud cyber resilience platform.

Will I need to migrate my existing ThreatWise environment?

No. While ThreatWise (and Metallic, at large) is now part of the Commvault Cloud, this does not impact existing subscriptions, pricing, terms, support SLAs.

Does this impact my existing functionality?

No. This update does not alter existing functionality or current deployments – and will have no impact on current performance, alerting, or configurations.

Will there be changes in the handling of data privacy when becoming part of the Commvault Cloud? Is my data automatically shared with the Commvault Cloud?

No, Metallic has always been owned and operated by Commvault. This means there will be no changes to data privacy or handling policies. Your ThreatWise data stays under your complete control as stated in your service agreement.

What happens with legacy (ThreatWise on-prem) customers? Are they also part of the platform?

To benefit from Commvault Cloud, Commvault’s new cyber resiliency platform, ThreatWise users must adopt our subscription-based model. This model was introduced earlier this year and features a hosted TSOC in the cloud.
