Hello Community, Need to schedule mssql restore to a different server and keep it up to date as source Server1 - Production  (trans-log every 15mins ; differential once a day at 8PM ; full once a month)Server2 - lives in a different site and stay in read-only mode and DB is same as server1 but has different name I want to keep the server2 database up to date as server1 while keep the database as ready-only and here are what I'm going to do :Does this will work or anything else needed? #1 Commcell console ->server1 -> browse/restore the latest backupset -> select advanced option#2 Point destination client and instance to server2#3 select recovery types : standby and choice undo file path#4 under restore option section: modify/update database name to match name in the serve2 and physical path as well#5 job initiation tab -> choice schedule option - create daily schedule right after daily differential completion time in server1(usually diff finishes at 8:30pm and i want the re

Weird issue here.  I’m attempting to disable an old, legacy storage policy.  However, if I try to make any change at all with this particular storage policy, I get this popup:"You need to select at least one log storage policy"  And I mean any change.  Name of the policy, retention, client association, disabling for backup, etc- they all generate this popup.  I had to move all of the clients to a different policy manually because the “reassociate all” function generated this popup too.  Deleting the policy isn’t an option because it has a copy with extended retention.  My goal is to rename the policy and disable it for backups.  Any ideas?  

Hi, We are thinking about implementing a Resource Pool for O365 in a MSP environment for ease of administration. There is not much details about this in the docs so I’m trying to reach out here to see if there is anyone with the correct knowledge. A few questions...Are there any recommendations about how to distribute Applications? Use one O365 Resource Pool or use separate Resource Pools for each App - Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams?Are there any sizing considerations on how much data or how many users can be managed by one single Resource Pool? How many Access Nodes and how many Index Nodes can we expand the Pool with as we grow?Is it possible to change current setup for our tenants from dedicated resources (i.e. their own AccessNodes and Index) to a Resource Pool? And if needed, is it possible to move a tenant from a Resource Pool to dedicated resources?  I would expect that a re-index will be needed in both cases?Regards, Patrik

I have been working with Commvault on Windows Server 2019 with the Commcell Console and Command Center installed to manage client computers for a few weeks now. I wanted to see if it was also possible to get these same packages on a Windows 10 Desktop to manage clients but on a network with no internet access. I know you can install the packages to deploy on another computer but when I tried a few different times with similar packages I used for the Windows Server 2019 onto the Windows Desktop version I get an incompatibility error and failure during installation.If something like this is possible, what packages would I get just to be able to run backup/ restores, and clone client computer file system drives onto blank drives?Thanks for all the help.

Hi All,how can we monitor when the discover process did not run? The Backup job is showing everything is good but in the backround the discover mailbox process faile. 

I am backing up a cluster, but each cluster drive has its own subclientAll the other drives on their own subclient are backing up fine.There are 2 errors I see.Process(72) - Could not get SIDB folders; cannot exclude SIDB folders from this backupERROR CODE [17:49]: Failed to further divide the collect files. Possible reasons: nonexistent path/file, hardware problems or full disk.The job for the cluster subclient run for over 30 hours before failing.The check readiness indicates there is no error on the sublient,Anyone have ideas on what logs I should look at the find the root cause.

There are some plans for moving some on-prem sharepoint into Office 365, and because of this we’re looking at what options there are for backup of this.  One possible issue we’ve discovered is the following, that we would like an answer to:Can you backup sharepoint online were the tenant has “LegacyAuthProtocolsEnabled” set to False ? According to this information it seems to not be possible: Configuring SharePoint Agent for Office 365 (commvault.com) The default tenant setting for LegacyAuthProtocolsEnabled is true. Changing it to false will impact connectivity from Sharepoint Online Management Shell to the tenant. Also, the backup operation is not supported, if you change LegacyAuthProtocolsEnabled to false.  But according to this SharePoint Online (commvault.com) you can use both basic or modern authentication.AuthenticationYou can use either basic or modern authentication to access data for backups and restores.

Hi Commvault gurus,I have a couple of simple questions regarding the tapes:When moving a tape manually to Export location, (right click on the tape -> EXPORT media -> marked New Outside Storage Location -> OK), is the tape travelling via I/E by default? I am asking because in CV, there are No Items to display under I/E Ports tab. Could it mean that CV cant see any I/E ports? However, the move to Export location has been succesfull. Secondly, I would like to be sure, if it is possible to move a tape with unaged data from Export location back to the library in the Commvault gui. Under options when right clicked on the tape I didnt see option Move to Library. Is it necessary to wait for data to be aged?

We are implementing Azure NetApp Files (ANF). Primarily we are looking to use ANF for SMB storage.We have an ExpressRoute between our on-premises Media Agents and Azure.Reviewing the documentation online, there seems to be limited support for ANF using CommVault Agents. Hi Guys,First time poster here so hopefully I have completed everything correctly.I am trying to do a Full Backup for 2 Clients in my Environment but the ‘Full’ Backup option is greyed out like so:I can confirm that all Incremental and Synthetic Full jobs are completing absolutely fine with no errors and that ‘Enable Backup’ etc. is also selected in the properties of each:Can anyone advise what may be the issue here? I can confirm that both have completed Full Backups in the past but it has been some time (over 3 years). I know that is a long time but this is something I have inherited and I am now in a situation where I need to perform a Full Backup due to Chunk errors I am getting.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.Kind regards,Shaun

Hi All.I have a DDB on a Linux Media Agent running in Azure. The “CommServe Job Records to be Deleted” is very high and reporting as Critical in the Command Center Health Report.I have confirmed that the Storage Policies associated to this DDB is enabled for Data Aging. Physial pruning is also enabled on the DDB.When running Data Aging to this specific DDB/Copy there is no entry in the MediaManagerPrune log on the CommServe for this DDB ID. All the other DDBs are listed.There is also no SIDBPhysicalDeletes log file on the MA.I have checked the jobs and no jobs are retained past the retention period.Any idea what would cause the records to remain on this DDB?Let me know if you require any additional information that could assist.Thank you.Ignes 

Hi All,I am trying to automate the commvault setup, configuration and backup/restore procedure in our environment. We have chosen python sdk (cvpysdk) to do automation. I am not able to find any module for media agent installation in cvpysdk. Can anyone please please help me with the workaround? Even a CLI would help for automation. I am doing all the setip on windows client, hence need the cli/module for windows setup/configuration. Thanks in advance.

I installed SQL 2008 agents on a cluster. After installing on both servers, I see the servers on the console but not in the Command Center. And I don't see the instances on the console. Can you help me? Thanks Sorry for my english

Hey All, one question regarding the SQL Log backup.  We had 2 SPs  SPDB → FullSPlog → translog We are running every 10 minuts log backups and every 15 minuts auxcopy. The split is needed because after the full db backup the auxcopy take a long time. That we have the logs in DC2 we splited that the auxcopy for both SPs can run at the same time.  No we have the problem when 1 DB is converded to diff that the Hole job will associated to the SPDB SP.  Exampel: Server 1: DB1 / Recovery modus FullDB2 / Recovery Modus SimpleDB3 / Recovery Modus Full When the Backup job started it goes to SPlog when the second dbs runs the hole job is rerouted to SPDB.  Is there any possibility to prevent ths ? Yes i can create an new subclient for all dbs with simple recovery modus… But what happend when the dba create a new one.
