Hello, TeamUpdated!!!Please, i have a prospect with this exact requirement.I got more clarity!! The VMs are hosted on VmWare VCloud (DC in London), and they are looking to migrate the VMs to EXSI host (managed with VCenter in a DC in Lagos). How do one go about it?I have a clearer picture now but i need inputs.

We have an old physical media agent doing Aux Copies AND writing tapes every month.  When tape jobs start for this media agent, the throughput of the aux copies suffers greatly as the CPU goes to 100% and stays there until tapes finish (might be 10+ days). We wanted to see if we could easily offload the “tape writing” jobs as we have a newer (but not very powerful) physical system we could repurpose.  This would entail installing a new physical media agent in the rack, adding SCSI HBA’s to it and connecting them to the tape drives.  Are there any “gotchas” when setting up a new media agent for tape jobs (either special physical hardware considerations, or software/config gotchas, or guides I should be looking at)?  I haven’t set a media agent up (especially doing tapes) and this is a that was maintained by a person who is no longer working with us. Also: We’re using LTO7 M8 tapes with LTO8 drives.

Hello Commvault Community! I would like to ask you about the topic of Multi-factor authentication Commvault. First Question: Is it possible in MFA to block the sending of e-mails with one-time codes, apart from sending the first e-mail with the code to the authentication application? I guess the solution to the problem should be to disable MFA for specific users, but then that user won't be protected anymore, right? Hello team, I have actually multiple accounts on AWS 1 commserve is hosted on premise 1 commserve is on AWS (standby)Actually I have 2 media agents located in an account name common account (VPC Account)Also I have some other AWS accounts that use the Media agents located in the common account to backup the data (Intellisnap API + agents)we use the assume role to allow clients from others accounts to use the common media Agents that are located on the Common account.We have also 2 other media agents that are located on another account but they were used for test.goal :as the environment is already qualified we prefer to use the existing test Media agent to avoid to create new ones with new IP address in the Common account I want to increase the existing Gridstor located in the common AWS account with the Media Agents located in the test Account to get more performanceWe will have 2 media agent located on a VPC and 2 other located in another VPC but on the same gridstor also a question

I have CS and MA in Azure cloud. I have one windows client machine in same network. I have one azure blob storage configured as cloud library. I have installed Storage accelerator on my windows client but still i can’t see backups moving through client to cloud (checked in streams, checked in events, and job details). Any thing i need to do specifically to enable storage accelerator?

Hello Guys, I need yor help.The Customer has sealed a DDB.However, they ignored the following warning:There was not enough free space on DL.As a result Disk Library is out space of now and the Customer has disabled schedules to not run any backup.As a troubleshooting step we tried to delete some jobs assigned to sealed DDB.AS you can see, there are over 20,000 jobs assigned to this DDB.We deleted over 12,000 jobs.Hovewer, Commvault is still showing the same number of jobs and no data has been pruned from DL.Is any way to force Commvault to free some disk space removing data assigned to sealed DDB?Rgds,Kamil

Still a noice commvault user..  Noticed that we have been getting the following Event in the evvent viewer.. DDB(s) reaching QI time threshold for adding new Subclients [{DDB [XXXXXX-GlobalDedup_Databases_5] MediaAgent [XXXX-cv1a] Path [D:\XXXX-DDP] AvgQITime [1153] Free Space Percentage [94] }]. New DDB(s) may gets created if it crosses threshold. Please review the DDB configuration, for more details refer Deduplication Building Block Guide on Books Online. Can anybody help me understand this and how to correct this.   Our small environment is all on AWS. Thanks BC

Hi All A question arose from my client, who backed Oracle Big tablespace.Is there a need for special adjustments when backing up BIG FILES TABLESPACE compared to regular TABLE SPACES when backing up  directly ( not from local RMAN script) from Commvault By adjustments, I mean a change in the settings at the SUB CLIENT level or the backup command level sent to RMAN by Commvault

Hi, I am trying to restore some files via live browse for VM in command center and I receive the following error:  When I go to JAVA GUI it automatically selects the FRE but it fails with:   So if I manually change to other FRE - it works:​​​​​ How else I can select the FRE for that VM, so it would not show that ‘FREL name is empty: File Recovery Enabler for Linux hasn't been set for this client. Hi all,I have a remote cache very far from my Commserve, then when I try to sync the Commserve cache it failed because it goes in time out. If I populate the remote cache in another way, is there then the way to force the sync status in the remote cache status ?Domenico

Hey all, is there an option / regkey which prevent that an client will added to an group even the group settings would add the client to the group because the filter are matching ?  The backround is we have groups with network settings. The group rules add the client to the group and push the netwoprk settings works as designed. But we need to exclude this particular client because we dont want that the client gets any networc settings pushed.  So do you know if there is any high level setting for the client which prevent from adding to groups ?  or can i remove the settings in the FwConfig + FWConfigLocal locally on the client persistent ?  thanks

I want to migrate Commvault from 11.20 to 11.24...Can I go straight to 11.24 or I must pass to 11.21 / 11.22 and 11.23 ? Thanks ! 

Log4j showed me a huge flaw in they way Commvault pushes information related to Maintenance Releases (MRs). Problem one is the software reading a list, allowing different installations to fetch different MRs as their ‘latest’ MR. I’ve got a colleague currently being offered 11.24.34 for example. Problem two is ma.commvault.com not showing all releases or reasons why one got pulled. Documentation’s repo (https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/138863_list_of_maintenance_releases_for_feature_release_1124.html) isn’t complete either.I had 11.24.31 offered at one point (through the software). This version was pulled, and only through support did I get to know the reason: the Server Event Manager crashing occasionally. Hi allI am running a PostgreSQL restore and the DBA has mentioned that the index files haven’t restored on this particular restore process. I’m doing a table level restore to another DB instance (out of place).He mentioned a restore that was completed in December had the index files restored. I’m a bit at a loss as there is no option to allow this from what I can see. I also followed the identical restoration process as was done in December so I’m a little stumped.Not sure if there is a simple solution to this?
