Hello,I’m aware that in Commvault, settings at Client level are more important than those at Client Computer Groups or CommCell level. I know that it was mentioned somewhere in docs, but after spending 2 hours on looking for it I gave up. Can someone give me a hand and point where it is?  regards,Łukasz. 

Hi all! In our environment, we have constant scanning of ports from Qualys and other network security tools.  We are always randomly having ports seemingly blocked, or port exhaustion, or in use from scanning.  We can’t quit put our finger on the whole occasional pipeline error, or other CommVault network error.   We are 95% virtual something like 5,000 Vm.  Would anyone have any suggestions on how we can protect our infrastructure from the scans, and port blocks?  Can I use topology between the 20 hyperscale media agents and commserve to force them onto 8403?  Any suggestions?

Hi,Need guidance on how do we properly reclaim some space from the successful backup jobs? Is there a way to delete manually the backup jobs? if there is, when I deleted the backup jobs do the capacity I free up from the deleted backup job will immediately reflected from the Storage Pool?

Hi Community ,As a security ask , can we implement Commvault user authentication while installing or uninstalling cv software either locally or through console ?I observe that while installing CV software locally , user authentication is required but while uninstalling there is no authentication requirement. Let me know if this is done for a purpose?

Hey all -I was under the impression that if we install a SQL agent on a VM, it does NOT use capacity.  This capacity licensing is ear marked for a main frame backup.  Thoughts?  Do we need to open a ticket?  Thanks!

I hope this is simple to answer for someone.  I looked in the Azure portal but was unable to find what I was looking for. We’re new to using Azure archive for our secondary copies, and the billing seems higher than expected.  Actual billing is showing about five times higher than estimates.  We’re wondering if some data is in hot or cool rather than archive.  Is there an easy way to identify what is in hot, cool, and archive by a chart or something in the portal?

Hello,I want to centralize the view of all my commserve located at different site.Each commserve is independant with their own libraries, media agent, clients.My infrastrucutre is composed of1 commserve on premise hosted on Head quarter1 commserve DR on AWS 5 sites with their own commvault environnement is it possible and how to achieve that ? does it need additional servers ? The most important thing is to view all the reports at te same console I have seen a post were this option is mentionned :https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/essential/133198_viewing_service_commcell_information_at_global_level.html  also I have seen :GRC and Universal Command Center Thank y

How can I force a client to use microsoft vss during backup? the backup is trying to use a different one

I have a customer that has asked about the protection of Azure Queue and Table storage, I can’t see anything on documentation about it so I assume it’s not supported as yet. Is there anything I’ve missed? They’ve also asked about classic storage accounts but I’m pretty sure they’re no longer supported.Any guidance on these would be great.

We make daily incremental backups and weekly full backups with the retention period of 4 weeks. We wanted to do a yearly backup with a retention period of 3 years and should not impact the retention of daily incremental / weekly full backups. Hello All,We have HSX deployed and few VM’s were added to backups and we tried Guest file restores. It completed successfully. However I would like to know whether the HSX nodes has ability to browse the windows VM guest files or the Commserve is being utilized to browse the guest files from VM.Also, if I have a dedicated VM with VSA installed how I can force the VM to be utilized for browsing the VM guest files. This VM should be utilized only for browse and its not required during the backup operation.Regards,Ananth

We are going to increase commvault  license capacity for limited period of time. We have permanent license of total 18 TB capacity out of which 4.5 TB is free. Expected new data backup size is approx. 30 TB.1.Do we need to provide “commcellinfo.xml” file in order to get & apply additional license capacity?2.Will new license application affect ongoing backups?​​​​​​​3.How can we get additional capacity for evaluation period, so that original license remain on the environment? Regards,Adyasha Tripathy

Have some alerts that just started showing up in the past couple of days for a particular AWS cloud libraryCloud MountPath(s) without pruner MediaAgent [ {Library[Lib1] MountPath[[store2] s3-backup] DeviceName[Device_94]} ]  (yesterday and today. Same time each day)andFailure Reason: Failed to check status of parent directory, media agent cannot access the storage. (started on the 19th and occurs roughly at the same time each day) (Additionally this error first occurred when the cloud storage was associated with a different Media Agent.  )The library has two mount paths, and the mount error mostly comes from the 2nd path.  Although it once reported the other.Checked the jobs for the storage policy related to it, and it seems that nothing is missing.Have looked through the logs and other than the similar alert text, I don’t see what could be causing the alerts. There are multiple storage policies using
