Hi Community,I need some clarification of Unusual File Activity panel which is available in Command Center under Monitoring .Link -->  Unusual File Activity Report This Report/Panel currently shows file related anomalies only for windows clients . Are there plans to add support for Unix Clients as well ? if yes any ETA How Commvault is currently dealing with file related anomalies on Unix Clients & VMs(agentless snapshot backup) ? To restore a file from a client that has unusual file activity, click Recover files.  – Is this option only applicable for Windows iDataAgent clients ? To recover a client that has unusual file activity, as a VM, click Recover as VM. Is this option applicable only for clients with Windows iDataAgent installed ?  VMs( agentless VSA backup) and Unix iDataAgent clients are not applicable here ? Can I recover a Physical server which has file anomalies as a VM to VMware vCenter ? I tried it  but it didn’t work for me . What all clients are applicable for R

Hi, We are performing several Sybase & SAP Hana restores.One thing I noticed: the progress is in commvault is “completely wrong” slash misleading.It remains at 5%, while in the hana log & sybase log in commvault you can see that it’s for example 30% loaded.Because the progress remains at 5%, people think that the restore is stuck (can stay at 5% for hours if you have bigger databases), and sometimes people kill the restore because of that.Why can’t commvault show the real status of the restore? For sybase for example the clsybagent.log from commvault shows the exact status, so commvault knows that status...so why not showing it in the gui/command center? Even if it’s not exact figure, having that as job status would remove some frustrations for users.  Only a question, not a request to change something :)

Hi Everybody,I need to modify the associated well known filetypes in Content Library but couldn’t find any information on how to do this. Some associations do not work for me the way they are associated. Also need to add additional filetypes like e.g. heic or rmvb.Does anybody know how to modify this?

Hey all,I have just implemented some AWS Combined Tier copies for LTR data to move away from data being retained Long Term on Standard Tier.  Everything working as expected and looks to be tiering fine.  The V2 Index backups get selected to the new copies which I believe from the documentation it is meant to do when more than one copy is available.  My question is however do/should these ‘Big Data Apps’ jobs get tagged to the Standard-IA tier as under most circumstances (3 index backup copies available criteria has been met), the jobs will age off in a short period breaking the minimum retention for the class.  From the view I get in the Cloud Explorer Tool it does seem to be held on ‘Standard-IA’ but I can’t find any specific reference or confirmation in Documentation. Just wondering if anyone knows/can confirm. Thanks in advance

Hello,Problem: One of VMs with iData agent installed consumes OI license instead of vOI.Installed software: File System core, File System, Oracle. No such problems with other VMs with similar software components installed.Could you please suggest direction to look?Thanks in advance! 

How can I identify which is the Subclient Command Line because the SLA tells me that I have many jobs without scheduling

Hello Community-members, I am doing a 1-touch Bare Metal Restore test of a linux machine with UEFI.The whole procudure from the documentation is followed and all goes well until I have to select the backupset for the restore.All the available backup's are in the list,  but every backup I select gives the message “job could not be selected”.  And these jobs where all successfull completed, so they should be OK. Now I want to look in the logfiles to see if I can find a clue why this is happening.So I have 2 questions:Has anyone ran into the same issue?Can someone tell me what the username/password is for the 1-touch iso's so I can login to check the logfiles? Thanks in advance,Rob Sonneveld

Hi All, We have some legacy Physical servers which not supported by Commvault. Its mix of Windows/Linux/DB.Can any one suggest the best workaround to backup those machines using CV? Thanks,Mani 

We want to create a Server Plan for databases that only runs a Full backup one a day.We cannot find a way to achieve that. When we configure an RPO, it automatically runs an incremental (which we don’t want), and under "Database options" we cannot find an option to completely disable transaction log backups.Am I overlooking something?How can we achieve only daily fulls through the Command Center?

It is possible to edit description of a backup job in Java gui. Is there a way to edit description of a backup job in Command Center or with qcommands? Thanks at all.

HelloWe have just gone into production with Commvault and are starting to look in more detail at the various reports available.  I’ve created a couple and so has a colleague but we are wondering how we can share these and/or simply make them available to the team. I cannot seem to export my reports (to XML) in the Java console and also there does not appear to be a corresponding “My Reports” in the web console. Thanks in advance.  

CVLT 11.26.3Our Commvault Health Report display one critical security issue. File Activity Anomaly alert. But this alert is not deleted. It’s enabled. How can I fix this? Is anything wrong with Alert Criteria? Does it should contain only the regular expression “7:211|7:212|7:293|7:269”? 

Hello,we have following Scenario:We Backup with Intellisnap on NetApp a SAP HANA with Multitenant Database Container.Generally everything is working but we have some timing issue or maybe wrong understanding how Backup should be done for MDC Hana.Pseudo Client: msp-sap-h01dInstance: H01Three Tenant DBs: mounted in HANA System as /hana/data/ASP H01 JSPandSystem DBLooks like that: System DB must be streamed by design → works everything fineThe three Tenant DBs are backuped via a Plan which runs every evening at 8pm and triggers 3 Jobs for each DB - and then one job works fine Snapshot created everything Ok but the two others failed“A storage snapshot cannot be prepared because another storage snapshot has been already prepared or a data backup is running” and after some time it resumed again and the it fails with “ SAP HANA Error []. “So all for one DB Backup is successful and two fails, because another Snapshot in Progress.Questions:Is there something we missed in Design how to Backup M

Hello Community, We are using the Commvault Verison SP11.20.90 and now had to install the Commvault Agents for the backup of Exchange on two clients. After the installation was completed successfully, they were also listed in Commvault. However, when I look into the clients, I only see the File Agent. The Exchange Agent is not shown here. Is this a bug or is there something else I need to be aware of here ?Kind RegardsThomas

Hello everyone,We’re stuck in network issue based on NAT.Could you judge if this is a supported NAT environment?  For all clients in Classic Network, no issue in performing the backup job.For VPN Network,Communication works well between CS/MA and client using NAT IP.A client is installed by push install from CS.8400~8403 ports are opened mutually between CS/MA and a client in VPN Network. (cvping)We can browse the content on a client in VPN so can create a new subclient. CS/MA use the IP address 100.67.1.93  as a client IP instead of 10.67.1.93 for connection.A client in VPN uses IP address 169.254.84.181/180 as CS/MA IP instead of 10.x.x.x.This is an extraordinary network configuration. But backup job is not working well. It showed this error message once we performed backup job in person. I’m not sure if this config is supported or not.Could you give me any advice?Thanks.

Hi Vaulters,Is it possible to upgrade content indexing from index V1 to V2. From my understanding upgrading the index is done at the client level and in this case the Exchange Compliance Archiver agent is the one that would need to be updated and all compliance jobs will become Index V2 going forward. However, the Agents that Support V2 page lists that you can’t migrate from V1 to V2 but can create a new client with V2 indexing. I just want to ask so that I can inform my client with certainty that this isn’t possible.
