Hi,I have question about backup image replication between datacenters.We have two datacenters and each DC has its own Commvault infrastructure. We need to transfer or replicate backup images from first commcell in Primary DC to another commcell in secondary DC.How can I transfer images in such a way? Thank you in advance.Regards

Hi All, Commvaullt release the LTS in every 1 year and Innovation Releases in every three months. I have few question about both FRs.What is fundamental difference between those two FR? Hi all,I have a remote cache very far from my Commserve, then when I try to sync the Commserve cache it failed because it goes in time out. If I populate the remote cache in another way, is there then the way to force the sync status in the remote cache status ?Domenico

Hey all, is there an option / regkey which prevent that an client will added to an group even the group settings would add the client to the group because the filter are matching ?  The backround is we have groups with network settings. The group rules add the client to the group and push the netwoprk settings works as designed. But we need to exclude this particular client because we dont want that the client gets any networc settings pushed.  So do you know if there is any high level setting for the client which prevent from adding to groups ?  or can i remove the settings in the FwConfig + FWConfigLocal locally on the client persistent ?  thanks

I want to migrate Commvault from 11.20 to 11.24...Can I go straight to 11.24 or I must pass to 11.21 / 11.22 and 11.23 ? Thanks ! 

Log4j showed me a huge flaw in they way Commvault pushes information related to Maintenance Releases (MRs). Problem one is the software reading a list, allowing different installations to fetch different MRs as their ‘latest’ MR. I’ve got a colleague currently being offered 11.24.34 for example. Problem two is ma.commvault.com not showing all releases or reasons why one got pulled. Documentation’s repo (https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/138863_list_of_maintenance_releases_for_feature_release_1124.html) isn’t complete either.I had 11.24.31 offered at one point (through the software). This version was pulled, and only through support did I get to know the reason: the Server Event Manager crashing occasionally. Hi allI am running a PostgreSQL restore and the DBA has mentioned that the index files haven’t restored on this particular restore process. I’m doing a table level restore to another DB instance (out of place).He mentioned a restore that was completed in December had the index files restored. I’m a bit at a loss as there is no option to allow this from what I can see. I also followed the identical restoration process as was done in December so I’m a little stumped.Not sure if there is a simple solution to this? I am happy to log a support ticket bu thought I’d ask here first.Thanks in advance.Mauro

While trying to delete a domain entry (name server entry) under domain and organization in security, commvault shows a confirmation dialog box “This operation permanently deletes all clients and their associated data for the selected Name Server. Are you sure you want to delete the selected Name Server ?”  what does this really imply?The validation check kept failing with verification error stating either credentials are wrong or the provider couldn’t be contacted for verification, hence we created a new entry for the same domain and validation check is successful on that.I want to get rid of the old entry for which the validation is failing. Is it safe to delete the old domain entry (name server)

Hi there, Since we upgraded to 11.24 from 11.20 I’ve noticed all our linux servers fail to have quiesced backups (windows servers are fine). We use openvmtools on the linux servers so I’m surmising that commvault thinks vmware tools isn't installed on the linux servers and performs a non quiesced backup? Manually taking a quiesced snapshot in Vmware for any of these servers works fine. I’m wondering is this normal behaviour? Cheers!Maurice

Correct me if I’m wrong, but, the Commvault server initiates the backup of the client, correct?  Is there a client agent that can tell the Commvault server when to be backed up? Thanks.

Hi Is it possible to exclude files from a long time retained backup.We have one plan which is retained forever. But there was not specified any filters on the servers when they started to build up retention.So now if I exclude areas on the different servers, then this data will be excluded on new backup jobs. But we will have a lot of data saved which can not be removed?

Recently Microsoft changed the default storage replication of my region from lrs to zrs. This increasing our storage costs by a lot.Is there any way in Commvault that i can choose which one to use? Today i think commvault is using the azure´s default.

Hello everyone,I have a very slow throughput with a specific database, the average restore throughtput is 60gb/hr, with a size of 1.5tb, this restore is taking 25 hours to complete. Our SAP database has 8tb and take 20 hours.I already changed the VDI to 2000 and nothing.How can i identify the problem with this database?

Hello,I’m sure it’s not possible to restore from tape in a foreign Commcell without a DR Backup applied to the new Commcell but I’m not able get this information in Commvault documentation. I’m sure I have already seen this information. I don’t really understand what the difference is b/w these two options, Media Kit - Join an Existing Commcell or Full Media Kit. Basically when I tried to update a media agent from 11.24.19 to v11.25.14 using the advance option, it failed. Now the Media Agent is offline and fails to update while other MA’s it worked OK. So of these selections, which one should I try on the MA that failed to update?
