HiHad anyone created a report, that can show retention(date) based on each client level? 

I’m very curious if other companies have adopted Continuous Replication within their VMware environments. We are a rather large RP4VM shop and there are many… challenges. I’ve watched CR mature over time and we’re at the point where we’re ready to start testing at scale. We have roughly 7,000 VM’s which need to be replicated (no point in time recovery, just latest recovery point) and I’m curious how others have configured their environment to support 24x7 replication (absolutely no downtime).

Hi Guys,I guys, I have completed the Commvault Engineer certification. Since I am having 7+ years experiance in Commvault, i completed the exam the knowledge i have gatherd in my experiance. But, I would like gather more knowledge for Commvault expert exam. I couldn’t find the self paced training or any reference document to become commvault expert  . Can you anyone suggest any possible way to prepare Commvault Expert Exam and also share your personal experiance if you alerdy attempted. Thanks,Mani

Hi Community.Our Riskassessment Team found some Issues with jQuery on our ContentMailSever/Exchange Online Access Systems. It seems they are using the jQuery Version 1.9.1 and it gets flagged for being EOL.All our installed Clients are on V11.24.25 and also have the Hotfix for the log4j Issue.Is there any timeline for replace the old jQuery Version in V11.24.x or do we need to update to V11.25 or even V11.26?Or is there a supported way, to replace the libs manually?

We have 2 data centers, each having a HPE StoreOnce Catalyst Appliance and configured to a media agent in the data center.DC1- dc1mediaagent <> DC1 HPE StoreDC2-dc2mediaagent ↔ DC2 HPE StoreNow we want to get an AuxCopy going between DC1-HPE Store to DC2-HPE Store and another DC2-HPE store to DC1-HPE Store. We have tried configuring the libraries and sharing them to the other media agent.  but the AuxCopy fails with Chunk errors   Failures constantlyWe had no issues using Synology arrays between DC1 and DC2.Any ideas on best practice with HPE StoreOnce appliances? ThanksLarry

Hello everyone, Before I open a ticket, I decided to ask here first, :).I’m with a alert configured to send via e-mail to a client when the Job Restore Succeed (Replication), but this client ask me to add more info so he don’t need to open the Command Center to see exactly what exactly was successful.With this, I went in the Command Center > Monitoring > Alerts > Alerts Definitions > the Alert itself. I edited the template and add more informations in it and then I saved the template, but when the client received the alert, he received the e-mail totally deconfigured, with the criterias I inserted, but with no informations:So what I did after this was to restore everything back to the original, and reconfigure the Alert using the Console Java Gui. Hi all, we are still facing the issue with failing VSA HotAdd mode backup, that ends with the error "Virtual disks needs consolidation".We know, that during the back up, the virtual disks are binded to VM proxy, a snapshot is done, but the virtual disks stay attached to the backup proxy.My question is, where to find logs from the back up process from the VM proxy. I think, in these logs it could be documented, why the virtual disks are still attached to the backup proxy VM. I have checked the log of the job, but there was no such information. Is there any log, that describes what is being done during the backup job on the VM proxy? Cheers!

Hello,I am on commvault v11 SP20 trying to restore exchange mailbox items by changing copy precedence or using a disk library from aux copy (not primary) Restore runs fine but always picks up media agent associated with primary copy.Tried from commcell console and command center (no option to change copy precedence in command center for exchange mailbox) Is it expected behavior or I am doing something wrong here?

Thanks Bill for detailed documentation. This helped me during setting up NFS for teradata backup purposes.I see performance for the jobs written on NFS is not same as other jobs using same disk library.NFS jobs are running with average throughput of 100GB/hr while other agent jobs to same disk library is in TB/hr.Ran CVperformance check on disk cache and that is also much better (throughput in TB/hr) Anything to check further. I have logged support case but any advice is appreciated.

Hi all, We’ve recently implemented IMDSv2 to our Commvault AWS deployed infrastructure. Are there plans to support IMDSv2 in future releases of Commvault? From what I can tell right now, we are getting:“Failed to connect to virtual machine host as user “redacted” from access node “redacted”. Please select AWS proxy that has access to AWS instance metadata”Our access node authentication method is: “IAM Role” Just interested to understand is this is a limitation of the SDK being used for making connections over the API, or are we missing some permission set on our end to get this working?

Does anyone know if Hub site ( is part of sharepoint ) is supported by commvault . I can't find anything about it on BOL. I can't find anything in commvault database. When I run sharepoint site disovery I see everything except Hub sites.

Hello, Everyone.I am currently in an environment where they use CyberArk to change all service accounts passwords at different intervals. They have their sysadmin sa for sql database backup on cyberark and it changes often. The backup administrator does not know when the password changes because it is automated. This often leads to backup failure due validation of credentials. Is there a workflow to update the passwords as they change that?  Or a way commvault can be on on-boarded on cyberark so the passwords updates as they change. Or a different way that the issue can be resolved. Note:Security is paramount to them, they are not looking to change how their passwords are generated. Please, help.

While trying to browse through the “Files and Folders” option from VSA subclient, we get the below error.. “Browse failed due to error while mounting virtual machine. Max disk size exceeded” Virtual machine guest OS is Windows

I’m trying to get a list of Jobs from the Rest API.It was working stable for a few month and now its not working anymore. Hi all.I would like to restrict my restore users, so that they cannot restore on top of a running Vmware server. I always want them to restore to a new server name, so somebody cannot destroy a running working server.Would it be possible to remove the In Place restore option when restoring a vmware server, and force the users to restore to a new server name. And when restoring to a new server name, would it be possible to remove the option to do a unconditional overwrite so that a user cannot overwrite a running server? Thanks.-Anders

Hello All,I am new to commvault. I am trying to create a customised commvault package to be installed on laptop client.However on step (Select how you want to authenticate with the server). I selected Single sign on.Getting below error:Could not complete SSO.Check the configurations and retry. I am able to login to the Commcell console with SSO by using the same domain user but while creating a package , i am getting the error as described above.Could you please help to get this issue resolved ? When Commvault introduced the defaultArchiveSet alongside the defaultBackupSet I think I misunderstood how it was supposed to be used an this resulted in me misconfiguring that subclient. We have a file server which has a number of drives that I backup, but we also wanted to archive files within that backup location. So we setup seperate subclients one under defaultbackupset and one under defaultarchiveset. This has caused some of the same data to be backed up twice. What I am thinking is that we should have just configured archiving under the defaultbackupset subclient and left the defaultarchiveset alone?  

In the chargeback report, it’s (should be) possible to define global price & billing tags.But that’s per TB. How to set that per GB? If not possible, will commvault to the correct math from Tb to gb? I mean: If we use 100 for 1TB, will commvault calculate for 600Gb:      (100/1024)*600 =  58.59   or will it use rounding (e.g 0 or 100)   

Good morning!We are trying to set up DynamoDB backups for additional accounts within an organization.  We have the EC2 instances backing up using STS Assume Roles.  Do we need to add the DynamoDB permissions to that assume role?  Do we need permissions added to the top level VSA as well?  Is the best practice to provide access a different way?  Can we even use the assume role?Thanks!

Hi, it’s not clear in the documentation about if it this is supported or not ?I have a customer who has OS = SLES 15 Plaform = ppc64le.We are trying 1-Touch recovery of those servers.I have used the DVD for the Store (1-Touch Linux Live Boot Disc, DVD4_R11B80_SP24.iso), it is bootable inside intel but not inside a PPC64le Platform !We are also receiving this warning since we have enabled 1-Touch Recovery at the sub client level !Error Code: [6:966] Description: System state backup failed : [Failed to populate ReaR conf file.
