Hi!  I’d like to control or set  number of streams for data backup for all subclients and instances in given agent type globally. So for example all postgres subclients are protected using 4 data streams.  Is there a default value that can set during subclient configuration?How to set specific value for currently configured subclients to given value? (other then looping through all clients, all agents, all instances, all backupsets via API). 

Hi Good Day,We have recently upgraded CommVault server to latest version 11.36.35 which use the Dotnet framework version 8.0.11. This was to fix the Dotnet version 6.0.16 vulnerability issue.Even after the upgrade the security scan detect 6.0.16 package on the CommVault server. When I check the add/remove program it shows both 6.0.16 and 8.0.11 packages. Not sure why, as it supposed to be maintained the version 8.0.11.Appreciate your help on this matter. How to fix it.

In CC ( Protect → File Servers → <item>-->tab Configuration (down&left) a list of servers that use current node as Access Node is displayed. I would like to get this list using an API, but I am not able to find the API.Is there an API that provides this info ? Thanks in advance !!

Our Customers ask if Commvault supports ProxmoxDocumentation.commvaut.com 11.34 show that PROXMOX is not supported.Research in comunity shows a two year old topic where someone asked the same question.Two year are a long time so I want to ask if and when Commvault plans to support Proxmox?Thanks in advanceJoerg 

We would like to upgrade commvault from 11.24.153 to latest LTS 11.36. Please share the below queries.Is there any complexity to upgrade directly to latest LTS 11.36? We are using Active/Passive CommServe nodes with live sync. Please share a upgrade procedure with livesync enviroment. Current SQL version is 2019 - 15.0.4236.7 and Windows Server version is 2019 standard. Do we need to upgrade windows as well as SQL to 2022 or 2025 separatly or it would initiate automatically during upgrade process?

Hi,Does the Dataserver-IP feature require any special libraries, packages or customization on Red Hat 9.4? like here: I have 2 Media Agents and I want to share mount paths (LUNs mounted to each MA). But there are some errors eg. with Data Verification or backup:Cannot connect to Data Server, please make sure desination MediaAgent is up and running and there is no network / connvectivity issue between source and desination Media Agent.In NFSTtransport log:3dfs server @ [cv-ma-g02] failed to start, reason: Services/3dfs are not reachable or refusing connectionThere is no firewall between them, there are able to cummunicate, services are running but still problem exists. There is no NFS service installed on this server - should I install it?

I would like to get information on best practices for setting up SQL Always On with Commvault IntelliSnap integration.The requirement is to implement new SQL instances protected by Commvault IntelliSnap.Is there a document that outlines the necessary prerequisites for this setup Windows side?In particular I can't find details specifying where to place the system databases, user data files, and their corresponding transaction logs.Know for sure have to reside on Array\Luns to get covered by intellisnap process.    

Hello, I have some issue with backup of thumbnails ( alot of small files above 2M). The issue is that IFIND proces using around 10GB f RAM, and then scan taking way to long en even not finishing on time ( around 6-7 hrs) I have already reseted DB by running recursive scan( took me around of 15hrs ) and after i tred optimize Scan again.  i have restarted commvault services, and the host. Reinstalled client, i have even added additions setting IFIND_AffinityMask, but still no resaults.  I am runing on SP11.32.81

Hi Team, i have a 3 node HSX cluster and a tape library. unfortunately no FC HBA on HSX nodes. i want to do Aux Copy the backup from HSX to Tape library. Meanwhile MA to tape libary is connected using FC. Tape Library MA and HSX are both connected to Commserv , so how we can establish the data connectivity between MA and HSX, and run the Aux copy to copy backup from HSX to Tape

Hello community, I was trying to automate some tasks using the Metallic API and ran into an issue (or maybe it's just me doing something wrong) during token refresh.From my testing and the CV doc, the token expires in 30 minutes, so we need to regenerate it using the refresh token. That part works fine.https://api.commvault.com/docs/SP38/api/cv/OpenAPI3/renew-accesstoken/ But, the 'Custom Scope' (/Job  /V4 /Organization) gets lost after the token refresh - custom scope content is empty, so I either have to manually enter it again or script it to update.I’m wondering if this is by design or if it’s something that might be fixed in a future release or hotfix.Should I open a case with support to get dev attention on this? Hi!I do have this setup in my home lab.CSserver - with 10.10.10.0 subnetMA - with 192.168.0.0 subnet and 10.10.10.0Proxmox server within 192.168.0.0 subnet(maybe in some time i will also add some more subnets) So my idea is that i would like my Proxmox to register to CSserver  via media agents. I want to simulate an infrastructure where CVserver is having only one internal interface to cummunicate to MAs only. How to achive that? I have tried to install 2nd instance on MA with gatteway agent. I have tried to create some network rules via CommandCenter, but still Proxmox is not able to register in CS…Maybe I am missing somthiing? All Commvault servers are Linux based and i have disabled internal firewall and SELinux for testing purpouses so it seems that there is somthing wrong with CV configuration itself. Is there maybe somekid of guide, similar topic or so? 

Hello!I am new to comvault and currently working on a project to backup our VMs. As I have been slowly adding VM backups I have noticed that the current capacity is going up as it should and we are currently at 19.8TB out of 23TB and that is what we are licensed in backup and recovery. I got an alert saying we are over 80% utilization so I went in a retired and then deleted a few of the VMs that I had done but the capacity hasn’t gone down. How to I delete the backups that were done for those VMs or will it eventually remove the data? Also I noticed on the dashboard the the current capacity is 23TB but the total disk storage space next to is it 32TB and we are only using 7TB. What is the difference between capacity and storage space? 

I manager a Commvault system that has been in existence for over 10 years. Throughout the years, engineers and configured and moved mount paths as needed. At this point I have drives with several mount paths on each one. Commvault reports 5 mount paths on a 100TB drive as 500TB. If I show executives utilization reports, it will appear that we have several PB of storage. Storage they know they didn’t purchase. Is there a way to consolidate mount paths, without deleting data, so I can run utilization reports with realistic numbers?

Hello,I do backup restore testing on 11.32 version and found that speed of single stream is quite limited. For SAP for Oracle DB agent I’m getting around 700-900 GB/h per stream, for VMware VSA agent around 700 GB/h per stream.At the same time backup server hardware resources are not very busy, hardware is quite powerful, DDB is on NVMe drives, Library is on SSD drives. Restore destination hardware resources also are not heavy loaded. So I see that hardware and network is not the bottleneck.Tested on Pools with 128KB and 256KB DDB blocks, with media encryption enabled AES128Are there any software limits for stream speed implement programmatically by Commvault? If yes, then can I control this limit manually using some advanced setting?Br,Andrejs

It’s been a while since I have posted here- but - Here we go! Whats going on with Readiverse? I took all the self paced learning items and it didnt show any completion ( yea a certificate) but no badges etc. Also, the test for SAAS m365 I took and scored 0%(?) - So I went back and looked at my answers and all but 1 was marked correct. Seems you get a 0% no matter what which keeps you from completing the course. anyone else experience this? Has anyone else used other platforms for elearning like Pluralsight?  Thanks 

One of our vendors suggested that AWS changed something in a recent SDK which can affect (break) S3 communication. On RHEL8 MA’s I see nothing that seems to resemble any sort of file or package relating to any such SDK, so, can someone tell me if AWS’s SDK is being used or if your connection to an S3 compatible storage target might be affected?I only see some sdk’s relating to lib* but nothing that looks like “AWS” specific.thanks

Our M365 administrator changed the email retention policy to 7 years in our M365 tenant. Prior to this, there was no policy enforced.The incremental backups prior would complete in under 30 min. for maybe a few GB of data. Directly after the change, there was 91 GB. The next was 177 GB, which I ended up killing, and then 240 GB that ran for almost 3 days before I killed it.I found the one mailbox slowing things down which had a large amount of emails - not the biggest mailbox but just the amount of mail items.My question is, what is the reason for the change after the Retention Policy is applied to email? It sounds like it may have to “re-seed” the data - what does this mean?
