How can I force a client to use microsoft vss during backup? the backup is trying to use a different one

I have a customer that has asked about the protection of Azure Queue and Table storage, I can’t see anything on documentation about it so I assume it’s not supported as yet. Is there anything I’ve missed? They’ve also asked about classic storage accounts but I’m pretty sure they’re no longer supported.Any guidance on these would be great.

We make daily incremental backups and weekly full backups with the retention period of 4 weeks. We wanted to do a yearly backup with a retention period of 3 years and should not impact the retention of daily incremental / weekly full backups. Hello Commvault Community,  Today I come with the question of what might be causing the problem with the OneDrive backup job, but only for one user who has a large amount of data. Users with little data are successfully backed up.  This user was separated from a separate Sub-Client and a backup job was forced. Hello All,We have HSX deployed and few VM’s were added to backups and we tried Guest file restores. It completed successfully. However I would like to know whether the HSX nodes has ability to browse the windows VM guest files or the Commserve is being utilized to browse the guest files from VM.Also, if I have a dedicated VM with VSA installed how I can force the VM to be utilized for browsing the VM guest files. This VM should be utilized only for browse and its not required during the backup operation.Regards,Ananth

Hi,I have different backup sets (subclient)  in commcell. It is possible to recall an incremental backup selecting the backup failed VMs only.Likewise is it possible to run a full backup for a particulatar subclient selecting the “Backup failed VMs” only?RegardsAsantha Fernando.

We are going to increase commvault  license capacity for limited period of time. We have permanent license of total 18 TB capacity out of which 4.5 TB is free. Expected new data backup size is approx. 30 TB.1.Do we need to provide “commcellinfo.xml” file in order to get & apply additional license capacity?2.Will new license application affect ongoing backups?​​​​​​​3.How can we get additional capacity for evaluation period, so that original license remain on the environment? Regards,Adyasha Tripathy

Have some alerts that just started showing up in the past couple of days for a particular AWS cloud libraryCloud MountPath(s) without pruner MediaAgent [ {Library[Lib1] MountPath[[store2] s3-backup] DeviceName[Device_94]} ]  (yesterday and today. Same time each day)andFailure Reason: Failed to check status of parent directory, media agent cannot access the storage. (started on the 19th and occurs roughly at the same time each day) (Additionally this error first occurred when the cloud storage was associated with a different Media Agent.  )The library has two mount paths, and the mount error mostly comes from the 2nd path.  Although it once reported the other.Checked the jobs for the storage policy related to it, and it seems that nothing is missing.Have looked through the logs and other than the similar alert text, I don’t see what could be causing the alerts. There are multiple storage policies using the same Media Agent and the same S3 bucket.  None of the others are having this prob

Hey guys,There’s something I can’t really understand about the way ‘Client Computers’ and ‘Client Computer Groups’ are working.Am I not supposed to see all of my clients under ‘Client Computers’ when adding a new one?Why is it that some clients are only under one of the ‘Client Computer Groups’ and some are only under ‘Client Computers’ and even some are under both?Thanks alot!

Failed to mount media with barcode [CV1041111M8]. Reason: The required media is currently in a different library. Advice: Import this media into the correct library and retry the operation. whY is he complaing for DR server WHY?    this job was run by HQ media server and also copy by HQ media drive now my issue is why is it complaining of media that did not even write the job

Hi, Currently you can send alerts when there is no backup for more than X days. Great.But is it also possible to have an alert based on X hours? Reason: systems with SLA /RPO of X hours. 

 We never backed up the client with MongoDB and want to remove it from the client and just leave the File System only.Question, if I remove the MongoDB software, will it prompt me to uninstall the Media Agent, Storage Accelerator and IntelliSnap or do I have to remove them one by one ?  Currentmy goal​​​​​
