  Dears,I am trying to add a standalone Hyper-V host (not joined to a domain) into Commvault, but I am facing issues with the credentials during the hypervisor configuration.The Hyper-V host is not part of the domain, so I entered the hostname, local administrator username, and password.I also added the Hyper-V host and Commvault server entries to the hosts file on all related servers.However, the system fails during the connection and validation process.Below is the exact error message:Failed to connect to virtual machine host [CommvaultSVR.xxxxxxxxxxx.com] as user [.\Administrator] from access node [commvaultsvr]. Please ensure that the access node is able to communicate with the host and that the user account and password are correct.I would appreciate your assistance in identifying why the access node cannot authenticate to the standalone Hyper-V host and how to resolve this credential/communication issue.Thank you.

Hi All, I am having some challenges protecting a multi-instance DB2 configuration. The below error is thrown: Db2 vendor library reported an error:[ ---- error report ---- app. message = backing up the database line = 6198 file = ClDb2AgentLib.cpp SQLCODE = -2079 SQL2079N An error was reported by the shared library "/opt/Commvault/commvault2/Base64/libDb2Sbt.so". [Backup] operation could not be completed.Source: p3hdb_2, Process: ClDb2Agent The backup of the first instance completes successfully. Can a single Commvault instance protect multiple DB2 instances? I ask because how is this achieved if a different user and group own the each DB2 instances? As I understand it the Commvault binaries and log location should also be owned by this same user/group? In light of the above:1. Are multiple Commvault instances required to protect multiple DB2 instances?2. Can different users/groups own the different DB2 instances?3. If so, should the Db2_c

We have been experiencing checkpoint backup failures for VMs on Hyper-V Failover cluster. The CSVFS volume is having 30% free space. How much is the free space needed for the VSA backups to complete for Microsoft Hyper-V Virtual machines. In VMware it is recommended to keep 10% free space on the datastore.

hello,i m planning a CommServe + Media Agent  all in one migration with hardware refresh, OS change (Windows → Linux), and version upgrade (11.28 → 11.40 LTS)I m want to migrate on linux because the windows version is depreciate.Can you advise me on the steps to take during the migration ?I would like to use the bare-metal version of Commvault 11.40 LTS, or would you advise me to reinstall using Rocky Linux and then install CommServe + Media Agent ?Thank you for your help

Dears,,I created a new linux virtual machine and installed the Commvault Virtual Server package on it in order to use it as a VSA Access Node for our vCenter environment. However, the server does not appear as an available Access Node, and I am unable to use it for VMware backups.

Hi, I raised https://github.com/Commvault/cvpysdk/issues/191 for the immediate need we have, but in general I would like to raise more awareness to ensure Commvault SDK’s do not keep on using deprecated API calls going forward. Could someone please own the SDK updates in case a specific API call is deprecated to ensure the correct API endpoints are being used? Thanks!

Hi, We have some Commvault supplied ova’s that are deployed in our environment running Oracle Linux. Recently there has been a CVE for VMware Tools and we were looking at ways to update that on these boxes. They don’t seem to be locked down like an appliance. Has anyone else had experience in updating VMware Tools on these?Thanks

Hello, I am attempting to perform an in-place upgrade of my CommServe in a dark site environment, which includes upgrading the SQL.I am facing a critical problem, and standard procedures have failed. Problem 1: Pre-Upgrade Validation Failure When I run the Setup.exe from my downloaded installation package, the Pre-Upgrade Validation check fails with this error:Automatic upgrade of the existing SQL Server instance is allowed but SQL Standard media is not available in the source media.Context: I downloaded the full installation package from the Commvault Cloud Services portal onto an internet-facing machine. I ensured to include all Third-Party Software (Microsoft SQL Server Standard). I have a media agent (MA1)  that hosts DDB Cloud Disk 1 and DDB On Prem Disk 2. DDB Cloud is running out of space and I need to run DDB Compaction to reduce space until we get more disks.The outlined process says to1- Stop all jobs2 - Ensure that there is no SIDB2 process running on the MediaAgent.I can stop all jobs that are using the DDB Cloud Disk 1, no issues here, however the media agent will continue to run jobs for our On-Prem copies using DDB On Orem Disk 2 which will continue to have the SIDB2 running. Can I run the DDB Compaction for the Cloud DDB  even though the SIDB2 is running for the On Prem jobs?What would be the recommend action here?On a different note/request, is there a way Commvault Team could take a look at streamlining the compaction process via workflow or a different method that would not require a command line for each DDB store (file/DB/VM etc)? Thank you

Has anyone use MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) software to deploy or update Commvault software in the entire Commcell environment?  We are currently exploring this option but I dont have much information to begin exploring. Also I am not sure if this will even work or is supported by Commvault Any advice or suggestion is highly appreciated
