What is the best approach to Migrate Linux (SuSE 12) Media Agent to Linux (RHEL8.4) VSA and Media Agent?

Over the past year I have been elbows deep into system governance and this brought me to loving Activate .This AM I woke up to check reporting and noticed that ALL of my projects were reporting “ No data found” following by a Command Center alert “ Failed to get Schema, Make sure Analyitics Engine is reachable”Me being .. well.. Me, I knew right where to look. My index server and content analyizer were up and active, so- naturally i rebooted them. Just incase an update snuck in there.After reboot the issue still exists. Anyone else have this issue? I have opened a ticket with Maintenance advantage on the lowest priority. I would like to see if we “ The Community” can resolve this issue together. 

Hi alli found a large files in commvault installation path, D:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore\Data\CommServ\cx_log1.ldf consuming 600Gb how do i trim the size? appreciate all the help. thanks 

I need to know does commserve allow a DASH Copy to be DASH to Cloud or are we only allowed to use AUX Copy to Cloud?

Hi commvault Champs , Please clarify my Doubt on network gateway :  we were under assumption that if we dont want to extend our Backup VLAN to the client ,  we need to get a network gateway trough which our backup data will flow through backup VALN to end storage .   But today we configured MSSQL always on DB backup and we had network gateway setup , But backups kept on failing till we configured MSSQL instances with Backup VLAN DIP .  If this is the case do we really need a network gateway ?  what is actual purpose of it ?  why do i need to configure backup VLAN DIP on MSSQL ( Always on ) instances for the backup data to flow when i  have a network gateway server ?

Hello, Is there any way to restore deleted backup job. I am missing some backup jobs from lastyear, So i wonna know if i can get it back. From backup summery report i can see that the back up completed but i cant find any job. And the retantion are set up correctrly.   

Is there a way to schedule an out of place restore (to disk) of a specific o365 teams-folder? For DR-preperation we need a weekly copy of this folder inhouse...In commcell console we have the posibility to save restore jobs as xml-files, and start a restore in task scheduler. But for the o365 jobs i can't find a similar possibility in the webgui.

Hello, once again I have a strange problem. We have set up a PostgreSQL backup and wanted to create an initial full backup. Data was transferred and everything looked good so far. However, at 88% the job stops. We are building up a high-available Postgresql cluster by using HA-Proxy, etcd and Patroni.In this design the postgres-instances are controlled by the patroni-service and are located in a separate directory on a dedicated lvm each. There is also the socket-file stored.While trying to connect, Commvault is looking in the default directory ‘/var/run/postgresql/’ for the socket-file and then failes, because it is located in an instance-specific directory instead like ‘/data/patroni/instance1/’Is there a way to tell Commvault this path? Like in the MySQL iDA where there is a field specific for the “Socket File”?

Hello Guys,My customer has exchange database integration as shown bellow, with this, i can only restore the Exchange Full database in another server exchange.I can't restore a message of the one user, for example.For that, it would have to have the integration with Granular exchange, right?

Hello team, CS is V11/SP20 with latest hotfix pack we’re going to patch CS sql database to update 13 and i found a ticket that references to SP18 without issue. Does this MS patch will cause any gotcha on SP20 or later, and if any customer do this ? Just want to make sure that(apply MS sql update13) nothing come up with later version of CVthanks 

I upgraded my CommServ to 11_20_85 and I read that this would remediate the log4j vulnerability. So I had the IA folks rescan the server and it came back hot and this is the path they sited. E:\ProgramFiles\Commvault\ContentStore\CVCIEngine\CvPreviewHome\webapps\CvContentPreviewGenApp\WEB-INF\lib\log4j-1.2.17.jar - they are advising to upgrade to a version of Apache Log4j

Hello,I’m aware that in Commvault, settings at Client level are more important than those at Client Computer Groups or CommCell level. I know that it was mentioned somewhere in docs, but after spending 2 hours on looking for it I gave up. Can someone give me a hand and point where it is?  regards,Łukasz. 

Hi all! In our environment, we have constant scanning of ports from Qualys and other network security tools.  We are always randomly having ports seemingly blocked, or port exhaustion, or in use from scanning.  We can’t quit put our finger on the whole occasional pipeline error, or other CommVault network error.   We are 95% virtual something like 5,000 Vm.  Would anyone have any suggestions on how we can protect our infrastructure from the scans, and port blocks?  Can I use topology between the 20 hyperscale media agents and commserve to force them onto 8403?  Any suggestions?

Hi,Need guidance on how do we properly reclaim some space from the successful backup jobs? Is there a way to delete manually the backup jobs? if there is, when I deleted the backup jobs do the capacity I free up from the deleted backup job will immediately reflected from the Storage Pool?

Hi Community ,As a security ask , can we implement Commvault user authentication while installing or uninstalling cv software either locally or through console ?I observe that while installing CV software locally , user authentication is required but while uninstalling there is no authentication requirement. Let me know if this is done for a purpose?

Hello,I want to centralize the view of all my commserve located at different site.Each commserve is independant with their own libraries, media agent, clients.My infrastrucutre is composed of1 commserve on premise hosted on Head quarter1 commserve DR on AWS 5 sites with their own commvault environnement is it possible and how to achieve that ? does it need additional servers ? The most important thing is to view all the reports at te same console I have seen a post were this option is mentionned :https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/essential/133198_viewing_service_commcell_information_at_global_level.html  also I have seen :GRC and Universal Command Center Thank you very much !
