Planning to move set of server in current commcell to new commcell.Commcell yet to build and AD creation in progress for independent environment.After commcell provisioned How to start the migration from old comcell to new. We like to keep the long retention backup. Any new media agent need to build?

Hi community.We recently configured the Oracle agent on a Linux machine, the instance is discovered and configured. Hi all,we have recently set up a new Linux server with a 6+ TB DB. The normal CV backup works good, much faster than our old System. We have a problem although with database logs. When the System is being used it can produce new logs every three seconds. Our old system had an open pipe to the backup System and was able to Archive the files fast enough that we didn’t have a problem. CommVault takes around 15 seconds per file. When the system is under load we have a problem with our log space. We now have a temporary log area (2TB) which we need to give back.The way I understand it CV opens up ist stream to DB2, Archives to log the closes the stream and checks that everything has been properly archived. The Problem here is the overhead involved. The actual archiving of the file is fast enough, it just that everything around is to slow.Anybody have any suggestions how we can accelerate the process?Thanks in Advance!

By default, the Web Server is installed as part of the CommServe installation when IIS is enabled on the computer.If you did not install the Web Server during the CommServe installation, or if you want to install additional Web Servers on other computers, you can do so by using the installation package that was created from the Download Manager application.How do you create the installation package for the web server, because I cannot select webserver. There is a data loss in customer environment. Customer wants me to check if there was anything which was backed up and could possible be restored. There are 2 incremental backups from which data needs to be restored. But while browsing the incremental data is stuck at “loading data….” and not actually loading data. Previous incremental backups are being browsed successfully.  

Hello Community, we recently switched our primary copy to an object lock (WORM) enabled storage pool.After a while we noticed that the storage space will not be sufficient regarding the additional space required for deduplication.Therefore we switched all clients to a new primary copy without object lock to let the data age out before going back to locked storage.The data on the locked copy should now already age out but one cycle is stuck with “BASIC_CYCLES” because the copy was created with 1 cycle retention initially. Is there an easy way to clean up this cycle for all clients?I could already free up the jobs from our VSA backups by disabling the subclients and enabling the option to ignore cycle retention on disabled subclients, but this is not practical for all other clients. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

my current environment on primary side we are not using commvault dedup and compression using storage end. so when we are going to do the aux copy commvault dehyderate the data from storage and using the wan compression full data transfer to the DR side or second site and destination side we have data domain on primary we didn't have data domain. any possibility to dedup the data  before sending to the destination like DASH copy (only reference point transfer to the destination)  objective is to reduce the wan traffic instead of transferring whole backup. I know i am asking silly question.

Hi,I have several CommServe installations in our different offices, and I’m experiencing the same issue in all of them. I can access the CommServe URL without any problem, but many sections and pages do not display the information.They keep loading indefinitely, and a “Not Found 404” message appears briefly. I have tried restarting the Tomcat services and running iisreset, but the issue remains the same. I’m running version 11.36.87.Everything has been working with no problem for a long time, but now it’s not. Any idea about what can I do?  

Literally - So did I miss some release notes that editing reports is no longer a thing? I have more than one CommCell doing this and I only noticed it when our backup summary reports suddently turned to “garbage” with essentially no content.11.40.34thanksI see I am late to the discussion in the Report builder thread. Hi all,I want to use Active Directory as my identity provider… A security group was created in AD and added to the Commcell. However, users in the Active Directory group cannot log on to the Command Center. I seem to be missing some logic in the workflow for approvers. If the default approver group is master, but I have an external DL / group of users who I want to approve changes, how can I get it to trigger the email to that DL?Meaning - I don’t just want the master group to be notified of something needing approval, but both master and the external group’s notified at the same time (so either another master OR one of the external DL members can)?I initially tried setting the default approver to the DL but no email comes out (yes the DL has a working email for it). The approvers in that DL don’t do anything in Commvault, they are simply authorized to approve.thanks

CVMongoRecoveryAssistant cannot launch due to missing CVMongoRecoveryAssistant.dll fileI would like to solicit some advice as this has happened to me twice already.  I have been wanting to test the recovery tool for MongoDB use by Commvault.  For some reason everytime I run it, it complains about a missing CVMongoRecoveryAssistant.dll file.  I look into it in the base folder and the file is missing. This results in the tool not being able to launch. I tried to lab the Commvault using a different media and I have the same result. The DLL file is missing.Is this a known issue?  Any advice is appreciated

Hello,By mistake I performed a recall  on a tape media that was already exported, we plan to take it offsite  but still in the library.The icon is changed  If I try to export it again I have this message.How to get back to Exported media state before taking the tape offsite.I just want to get back to the previous state.  Thanks ! 

 I am having an issue with a Live Sync setup I created for a customer.The installations on both the production CommServe and the standby CommServe completed successfully. However, after enabling Live Sync, nothing happened.When I checked the Failover Process Manager, I could see the production server with a green status indicator, but the standby server did not have one.I also noticed that the CommServeDR policy does not have any SQL subclient associated with it. The only thing I can see is instance001 from the production CommServe.Later, I realized that the entire configuration was done without TCP ports 8405 and 8408 being open between the two CommServe servers.My question is:Is it possible to revert or completely delete this Live Sync configuration and recr
