Hi Community,I’m trying to deploy the CIS pre-hardened ova image and i can’t login on windows.i have deployed three times the .ova and respect the password complexity rules.it doesn’t work.I see older topics but it seems that it’s not fixed.Please advice Christophe

Commvault changed the default GCP snapshot method from multi-regional to regional in version 2023 (11.30.0) and now gives you the option to choose regional or multi-regional snapshots for your data to help with cost savings and better flexibility of your backups.  Google Cloud Platform has recently published new pricing for their standard snapshots.  This price increase went into effect on April 1st, 2023.  Regional snapshot storage pricing increased from $0.026 GB per month to $0.050 GB per month (us-central1 zone baseline), a 63.1% increase, while multi-regional snapshot storage pricing increased from $0.026 GB per month to $0.065 GB per month (United States multi-region baseline), an 85.7% increase.  See Google pricing announcement for more information: https://cloud.google.com/compute/pricing-announce.Before Commvault version 2023 (11.30), multi-regional snapshots were used in Google Cloud Platform as the default snapshot type to utilize redundancy across regions.  Because of this

Hello, I have an error when trying to copy sessions from disk to tape, I get a message "does not need to be copied". I had previously copied this session to a tape and now I also need to copy it to a different tape.

can some one please help me to understand the below point  If an application database (oracle ,sql) is already configured to be backed up by an application agent, it will not be backed up using the application-aware VM group. if i have application aware backup  cant  we backup it application level?if i was taking vm backup before like  incremental in all dayand database level in hours and if am planning to change it to application aware backup how can i achieve that

Is there a matrix or something that commvault supports for nic drivers for certain hardware for their intellensnap workflo? seeing PDL’s on the hosts during snap volume unmount and its causing issues with my virtual host. Anyone else see this? There is some firmware updates available- but not sure if they are reccomended etc. Thoughts?

Hi,We are going to refresh our Commserve server to a new hardware, but we are looking if its possible to deploy its DB on different SQL server. We searched Commvault documents but all deployment procedures found are to deploy DB on the same server. 

We currently have a 10TB SAP Oracle DB on-prem, BR-Tools backup to a local disk is taking 4 hours.How to achieve the same backup completion time for the same DB in a Azure resource group to another resource group?

Hi I was wondering how we disable Authentication for Agent InstallationIt shows as greyed out in commcell, I am aware this feature offers extra protection I would just like to disable it whilst we install multiple servers.

Hello We are planning an Commvault upgrade from FR11.24.xx to FR11.28.5X. We still have a lot of 2012 servers and SQL2012 servers. Wat would be better? Let the agent on win 2012 on FR11.24.9x,  or upgrade the clients to 11.26.xx.Commvault 11.26.xx is the last Commvault version that supports Windwos 2012 and SQL2012.  If we use additional setting we could upgrade the client to FR11.26.xx  Thanks in advance!

I have a customer that is looking for clarity on a port requirement question(s) Scenario:2 sites primary and secondary site A Primary site B DR Data backups from site A to B (Aux\Dash copy synchronous)  Commserve LiveSync  enabled Requirement if site A goes down that site B will need to recover all the VSA VM backups from site B copies of site A bkups. The question is what ports need to be opened to accomplish this since there will be a firewall between the two sites. Will all traffic need to be bidirectional or can some of the port connections be established solely with one way connection? I did point them to the commvault documentation:https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/7102_port_requirements_for_commvault.htmlbut there was some confusion on their part and want to validate required ports for:LivesyncAUX copy data traffic from site A to BMedia Agent data from site A to site BCommunication ports from Commserve to secondary site.  

Is there any uninstaller or cleanup tool available for commvault windows clients.Many times, it is impossible to clean the traces which creates a lot of problems.

We have a customer that is asking about backing up NetIQ eDirectory, and if it is supported by Commvault. It seems as though it is, leveraging the OES File System Agent: https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/19892_backup_oes_file_system_idataagent.html Can you confirm this is the case? Also, the customer is asking if there is any documentation that explicitly describes support for NetIQ eDirectory, and on how to specifically configure backups and restores for it. We cannot seem to find any documentation on this. Would you be able to provide any info? Thanks!

Can we spin up Commvault components on bare metal instances in hyperscalers.Any documentation link or references would helpLeena   

HiWe use disk caching feature for our SQL and SAP Hana log backups. As destination we have a Hyperscale X cluster. Now I’m not sure what happens when I want to perform maintenance for a node or if one goes offline. Does anyone have experience with this?Thank you
