Azure Data Studio is currently installed on all of our CommServe / Standby CommServe instances, likely as part of the SQL Management Studio installation. While I can see reference to Azure Data Studio within the “Third Party Applications Installed by the Commvault Installer” page, I haven’t found anything to suggest it is actually required. Can it just be uninstalled?

Sql always on Admin can no longer see incremental backup in SQL management studio, only see full backups Are there any special settings?   

Dear All, I would like to see your kind advice on the CV cloud storage issues. With CV cloud no longer offer unlimited data storage, how do you manage the storage size? Currently  i have 29 TB of data (365 email, sharepoint, onedrive, where 80% of the storage used is from 365 email). The above is 3 years plus of data, my current retention policies is unlimited. Max that i can set is 7 years due to business requirement for certain group of users. Other users i can set a shorter retention policy. But CV cloud doesn’t allow setting different retention policy for different group of user.How do you all Manage the backup size Store your backup, do you use other storage for your CV cloud?  

I ran an rman validate for an standalone instance to verify aux copy. HelloWe are using exchange database agent to backup the dag.We have the next setting enabled:"Optimize for message level recovery".Now when we try to restore messages it only gives us an option to restore as a pst file. Is there a way to restore directly to the mailbox?

Hi, We are on 11.32.59. Sorry but the circular looping and vagueness of this topic has be a bit baffled as to the instruction on this page which says “ Create a dedicated, non deduplicated storage policy for the LiveSync operation. Create the storage policy using a MediaAgent available in the standby site. “. Then on this page “ A Commvault created default server plan for CommServe LiveSync uses a non-deduplication storage and a worm copy. To use a server plan other than the default, ensure that you are using a non-deduplication storage. “Well, I have installed the second instance on the primary and both instances on the standby but where does this “dedicated” SP come into play?What if I don’t have an MA in the “standby site” as the goal is to just have the failover capability for the CS, not actual DR needing a dedicated MA?If I already have a non-deduped SP which could be used for LiveSync - can that be used or does it have to be dedicated? Hi.  I looked in the community for this situation but couldn't find it exactly.  I'm using the Commcell Console on my Azure virtual desktop (Windows 10 Enterprise).  The AVD is in the central US region and my desktop shows that it is in the US central time zone (UTC - 6 hours).  Times for all jobs in the Job Controller, Restore History, Backup History, and the Schedule next run time are all showing as UTC.  On my laptop, also in US central time zone, when I view the same Job Controller, Restore History, Backup History, and schedules, the times are all properly displaying as US central time.  I tried clearing the cache on my Java (version 8, update 231) but it didn't make a difference.  I have one coworker with the same conditions and another who seems to be unaffected.  Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Experts , I have been  task to migrate data from 7 years retention Tapes to our new store once catalyst stores library.The original tape library is already no hardware support and broken and it is also in a different CommCell. after merging the CommCell clients. I am able to see the Tapes storage policy copy ( the primary copy is on a disk storage which is also not recoverable any more.) I am thinking to use aux copy but from  console it seem I can only copy the tape to another tape using the new tape library on loaner for migration purpose by HP. Is there a way to use the loaner tape library read the tapes and direct copy to the Store once catalyst stores?

Hi!I've seen here in the communities a few thread regarding Commvault's ability to fully protect AD/domain controllers.Has this been addressed in the later releases (11.28+)? I mean, what is the correct strategy? AD iDA + system state with the FS iDA?Is this sufficient for a full DC recovery and also for granular recoveries of AD objects?Regards,Pedro

Hello Commvault Community, I have a strange case where a connection loss occurred in the environment during an AG SQL backup, the Commvault system resumed the backup job for another attempt, but didn’t reset the Size of Application counter from the first attempt, which increased this parameter by x1.5 times, causing the Front-end license to be exceeded. To clarify the situation, AG SQL in the case of Full Backup actually has 6.9 TB Size of Application - that's 22 databases. For example, a correctly performed backup tonight (from 21.01 to 22.01) for JobID [...]140, correctly recognized 6.9 TB Size of Application.   Last night (from 20.01 to 21.01) Full Backup was also performed and the network connection was interrupted (this isn’t the most important thing at the moment), then Commvault independently resumed the backup job in the second attempt, which ended correctly, but unfortunately the Size of Application from the first interrupted attempt was added to the second one, which was comp

Hi,currently I’m struggeling with the implementation of Plans and Plan Rules in an existing Commcell (V11.32.73)I created a Plan Rule, to select all Clients with File Server solution, that are associated with an exsiting Client Computer Group to be assigned to an exsiting Plan.I don’t find any clients in the Waiting Room, and the clients I intend to assign, are also not present in the Excluded Entities list.I tried the Rule with All Regions and Any Region selected. did not change the outcome.I also removed the wanted solution, resulting in Any Solution.Now I find one client in the Waiting room.Even though the solution is shown as File Server, I can click on that client’s subclient and end up in a HANA subclient.Why don’t I get the regular File Server solutions listed for the Plan Rule and is there something I missed ??There is no Default Plan defined for the Commcell, as requested in the documentation.regardsKlaus
