Is there a way for a user to search and show only the deleted files from a backup?We can use the show deleted items, but haven’t found any way to filter or search it so we only see the deleted ones. The deleted items also holds their original modified time. So cannot use time filter to see either.If there had been an optional column with state deleted/present this would have solved it.This started with a request from a customer that did not know exactly what the files were named or where they were stored.  

Hello Community, Issue: The Oracle backup completed successfully. But, the RMAN log gave an error as follows: "ORA-19502: write error on file '10684186_QUADMS_7024upnk_224_1_1', block number 11883521 (block size=16384)." Tried :conducted an examination and can confirm the there is no real I/O errors on the file system through the command "SELECT * FROM V$DATABASE_BLOCK_CORRUPTION;," which yielded no search results.verified the file system and storage have an ample availability of space.Question:If CV backup history shows as "complete successfully", does that imply everything is in order, even though there was an RMAN write error during the middle of the backup process?I'm also interested in understanding how Commvault assesses the integrity to ensure the restorability of the ora backup, even in cases where the process concludes successfully despite encountering several write errors during the middle of the backup.  thanks

Hi all,since I am still struglling to understand the procedure of Media Agent +DDB and Disk Library deletion I would like to open this thread and with your help summarize the proper procedure. Brief description of the situation: Disk Library and associated DDB - Contains no relevant data, maybe only some unimportant leftovers - Haven’t been used due to other available DDB stores and storage arrays. - Disk Library and DDB mount paths/partitions are in an offline state.   Current state: - Old Media Agent is stopped and no longer accessible.  How can we properly remove both the old DDB and Disk Library? Disk Library Deletion: Is it possible to delete mount paths that are in an offline state? If not, is there an alternative workaround? I assume that once the mount paths are deleted, deleting the Disk Library should be possible. Here's our situation:We have a SQL server that was originally on-premises and backed up entirely by Commvault. We've since migrated this server to Azure, but we're maintaining a hybrid backup approach: Azure Backup is now handling most of the server's data Commvault will be managing the SQL backups We'd like to separate this into two distinct clients in Commvault:An on-premises client (historical/inactive) for our legacy data and backups, renamed with the onprem location as a suffix. A  new client for our current SQL backups with the same name without the suffix.Our question is:Is it possible to change the current client and its client identifier, so we can add the migrated client as new. Hi Guys!I have a Schedule Policy for Virtual Server backups, what containes two incremental backups during the day (4:00, 14:30) and a Synthetic Full backup at the evening (18:00). Before Synthetic Full, "Run Incremental Backup" configured in the policy.When the old V1 indexing VM backups was run, there were Incremental backups at 4:00, 14:30, 18:00 and Synthetic Full after the last Incremental. After V2 indexing VM subclient migration, the same Schedule Policy runs differently. There are the two configured Incremental and the Synthetic Full, but no Incremental before Synthetic Full. Why is it happens? Incremental can't run before Synthetic Full with V2 indexing as configured in the Schedule Policy?Thanks in advance.

Hello!In our o365 Commvault environment we have around 1,000 mailboxes / OneDrives that are either “Deleted” or in “Do Not Backup” state.The o365 Plan is to “Retain messages indefinitely”, as it is also the only option.All these accounts are from ex-partners, that are not currently working in our Organization and we not really need to keep their backups.So, Im looking a way to delete all these backups from their Exchange online and OneDrive, in order to save also some space in our Backup Repository.Is there any way to achieve this?Thank you in advance,Nikos

Hi Team,As part of our organization's security policy review, I would like to inquire about specific features offered by Commvault regarding password management:  One-Time Password Policy: Does Commvault provide a functionality that prompts users to change their password upon their first login or during a password reset process? Forbidden Password Combinations: Is there a feature that prevents users from using their usernames as part of their passwords, or any other configurable restrictions on password combinations?

Hello Experts, We are in the process of replacing the Storage of primary backups and would like to take expert opinion before proceeding further. Our storage policy have StoreOnce as a primary copy (retention 30 days) and Tape library (retention 10 years) for the secondary copy. Going forward we want to replace the StoreOnce with Hyperscale-X for primary copy. The data on StoreOnce is copied to tape and we want to leave the StoreOnce for next 30 days to allow the data to expire. Now the questions are If we modify the storage policy and replace the StoreOnce with HSX, will we be able to restore the data on StoreOnce in next 30 days if required? If we create a new storage policy, how can we move the catalog of Tape from old policy to new policy? What is the best approach for this ?Appreciate your suggestions on this

Hi Commvault Community,I am writing to inquire about releasing space on a storage unit previously used for backups. Here is the context:The library was configured on a QNAP unit as a network shared folder. A Storage Pool was created for the deduplication database, and a Storage Policy was associated with it. All three elements (library, Storage Pool, and Storage Policy) have been deleted to clean up the shared folder. However, despite considerable time passing, the storage has not been freed up. Manual deletion of the folder contents is also not permitted.Steps Taken:Deleted the jobs in the Commvault console, but the shared folder still shows "Size on disk." Performed data verification and Space Reclamation; however, no storage was released. Deleted the deduplication database, but the folder information was not cleaned up. Hi Commvault gurus! I have the following question. We need to test disaster recovery situation when loosing all infrastructure and having only tape backup available. Then, which option we should choose in CommServe Recovery Assistant - staging or recovery? As said, we just want to simulate disaster recovery situation and try to restore CommServe and couple of client in order to be prepared for such situation.What is the difference between Staging and Recovery option? I know, that when using Staging, all Backup activity is disabled, but of course it could be changed manually, couldn’t be?Is there any other pitfall, we should keep in mind? Hello Commvault Community,I'm trying to backup PostgreSQL with FSBased backup, somehow it failed at 74%. When I checked the log, it shows that there is invalid archive log directory (Log file attached). In our PostgreSQL.conf, we are using bash command in archive_command row. I also configured the postgres instance in Commvault using the path from archive_command bash file. So the path to archive log should be correct.In looks like Commvault managed to transfer data but it failed to stop the Backup Query.Please advice. Thanks in advance.

Hi CV Team, We want to send CSDB meta data to commvault cloud(metallic). We have whitelisted all CV URLS. We added internet proxy IP to the commserve host. When try to enable the setting “upload backup metadata to metallic cloud”, I am getting below error in CVcloudservices.log “Failed to connect to cvdrservices.metallic.io port 443 after 21000ms, cloudnt connect to server”. Kindly note, I am able to url the URL upload backup metadata to metallic cloud” on the commserve edge browser.Do I miss anything here?
