Hi All,I cannot download the appliance VMWare Windows Image of Commvault Software with 11.36. It has Restricted Access. When I try, I get the message : Contact your software provider for access to this package.I have already used the download manager for 11.36. I don't understand why this appliance has restricted access. How can I download it knowing that I have several POCs waiting…Thank you!Regards,Luc

On Commvault version: 11.28.We have several VM’s that are being backed up by Commvault clients.  If we had 2 datacenters in an active/active configuration (where VM’s could migrate/be migrated back and forth individually between the 2 datacenters), is there a suggested configuration (or a CommVault upgrade thus giving new functionality) to allow a moved VM to utilize the Commvault media agents at whatever datacenter is local to them?  We don't currently use “plans” just old storage policies, and I don’t see a way for configuring a client in a storage policy to always choose a local media agent (in the DC its running in) to process the backup. I believe if we are backing up a VM using the Commvault VMware backup mechanism then we can just use a “local CommVault proxy” and the VM will be auto assigned to the proper local proxy when backups run, but I’m talking about a VM that we do not use VM backups for, ones that we use clients on (like when we backup up MSSQL/Oracle databases or just

Has anyone got a process in place where they’ve been able to update server information held within a ServiceNow table(DB) with information of last backup date and time. Basically looking for a way to ensure all servers they need a Commvault Backup are being backed up. This would include VM and Client Agent Backups. 

11.28.126 O365 Sharepoint Online First Time Setup - Error is: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.This appears in the CVSPAutoDiscoverScan.log on the O365 ‘Access Node’ We have setup a new Azure App, to backup Sharepoint Online for a customer, the Azure App appears as Authorized But we unable to get any Content, when I try ‘Add Sites’, we receive the following message - now my Azure guys tell me 1 and 2 are fine, so we go to three - the kb article refers to this command Set-SPOTenant -DisableCustomAppAuthentication $falseWhich my Azure guys tell me is now retiredI’m hoping someone has had this pain before and knows a workaroundThanks 

Does the information below in the report (see red square) mean that the backup size from that particular media agent is over 18TB?

Hi,Some time ago Dell introduced support for Transparent Snapshots in their offerings which according to their materials should boost VMware VMs protection and restore. As far as I know Dell is the only vendor using this, so I am not sure whether this is a VMware technology or is it a third-party in this case.Anyhow, I wanted to ask if there is a similar solution on the road ahead that is/will be available in Commvault?

Hello Community, I have some flow to automate. In my company we have second copy of data working as our DR solution. I would like to have possibility of change backup copy association from Storage Policy by API or QCommand to automate entire process. Hi all,I am trying to set Entra ID backups on our CommCell. I am following the documentation under Getting Started with the Azure Active Directory Application, including Complete the Guided Setup for Active Directory which is one of the steps.When I go to Guided Setup on the Commserve, all of the applications within “Protect” are greyed out, so I am not able to find the AAD or AD Application, or access any of them (see screenshot) including other tabs in that page. Even when logged in as local administrator, which is associated with the master role.When the vendor helped us implement Commvault, I notice they didn’t use backup plans to schedule and run backups. And if you see in the screenshot, the “Create server backup plan” checkbox is not checked out, which makes the core setup unfinished. I wonder whether the system needs a backup plan created, even though it will not be used to be able to work with additional applications? Thanks in advance.Kind regards.

Hi All,Is there any way I can restore full virtual machine to a virtual access node if it is only access node in particular VMware environment. Because all Commvault services on this access node don’t start up after upgrading its software version to 11.32.69.  Thank you.

Hi all, I’m looking for a little bit of assistance. I’m trying to build a custom report for our monitoring needs, the issue is I’m not sure how to filter out data received by an API Call. For example: I add a dataset > HTTP > Rest API: /JobThe above returns me all the jobs, how do I filter jobs that ran on a particular date? Is there any tool I can use in the dashboard creator itself? Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

Hi TEam, Commvault VSS services on VSA is getting stopped intermittently.We have KPI when this service goes down, the alert is getting triggered. This is causing noise.As a workaround we have to start the services CV VSS manually. Is it expected that VSS will auto stop/start when Backups run ? Is it possible to keep it online always ?Can we enable automatic start of this services after reboot ? Please advise.

After upgrading from 11.28.66 to 11.32.6, the command center dashboard backup summary report is showing no data available and also has an error “bad request, please check the parameters”

Hi folks,Getting this errorHere’s the background, simplifiedOut of space in Metallic, storage policy is set to 365days/1 cycle. We moved to Metallic sometime last spring I think? Either way, chewed up 50TB in about 6 months.I think I have it down now where I have two storage policies, backing up the same stuff on the same retention period. However, if I try and reduce the retention rate of one of the policies (from 365/1 to say, 180 days / 1 cycle), I the error above.How do i get past that? I’ve submitted this to support and they have said nothing about any form to be filled out.

Hi, We have holds configured in the storage policies to reflect backups to be retained for about 7 days, 1 cycle. Now, when I browse the CV_Magnetic folder, I still see V_## folders from years and months ago in them? shouldn't they be automatically deleted after the 7day retention period or am I just missing a configuration setting somewhere?Can old folders be deleted? Regards,Johana

I would like to create a secondary copy of tape backups to aux copy existing tape Archive backups to a newly configured AWS cloud library. They have 12 drive tape library and planning to connect 6 drives out 12 with HSX through to perform aux copy.Here is my doubt to outline the solution.Do I need to zone all the MA with tape library or only six MA? Hi,We’re running ver: 11.32.6 since a week back.Now we’re getting the following error for one of our MA’s.“Error Code: [13:244]Description: [Media write operation failure] [Dedupe disk media] [There is not enough space on the disk.]Source: xxxx, Process: cvd” When I check disk we’ve got a bit over 2.2TB free space on disk which equals to 56% free disk. 

Hello Commvault Community We had backed up two very important firewall devices (Linux) which sits in Australia East and the media agent that is holding the backup sits in Western Europe.  The job gets so far then bombs out with error 91:145.  I’ve logged a call with support but was wondering if anyone had come across such issues before.   Many thanksTonyQ

Hi all!On our Windows Media Agents i noticed that there are two Commvault Services installed where the startup type is set to “manual”.Commvault VSS Provider Service Commvault VSS Hardware Provider ServiceDoes that mean that CV will only start these services as needed? When are those services needed?Is there a Service description for WIndows on what each service does in general?Thanks in advance for any input.

Good day! I’ve got some strange problem. After upgrade from 11.28 to 11.32.69 database backups stopped working with errorError Code: [19:1942]Description: The RBS Store Client option is not selected. Please configure it and resubmit the job.We are using BLOB storage in content database. MS RBS.msi is installed and configured on SharePoint server (before upgrade backups worked fine). Now I can’t find where to enable RBS Store Client option.I’ve tried to create new subclient, reinstall agents on SharePoint server with now luck. Could anyone direct me, where can I enable this option?Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have a Hyperscale setup with Mount Path Reserve Space set to 6144GB. I’m guessing this is set by default and you should avoid changing this. In this setup we have typically statis data and we are close to the limit, passing it during weekends and then getting back some space after Data Aging. The system will also have less data to protect in the future as backups will be re-routed to a new Hyperscale.I’m wondering if the Reserved Space could be carefully lowered and what the risk will be. I also noted if I right click the Hyperscale Mount Path I have the option “Release Reservation”, what does that do?
