Good day,CS: V11.16.xBefore doing a hardware refresh for the CS, we created a VM in a lab with wins2019 and imported the CS DB during SP28 installation. all works fine. However, once login to the CommCell Console, we received a message indicating that the DDB was currently undergoing maintenance and required the completion of maintenance operations such as DDB resynchronization and conversion to a transactional DDB, among others.we have 2 DDBs, and the "convertddbTov5" plan indicates that there are 2 Memdb that need to be converted to version 5. Questions:  if the DDB resynchronization will function as expected after the CS hardware refresh, as two of the DDBs are MemDBs that will need to be converted to V5 after the successful hardware refresh and DDB resynchronization. Which logs will display the DDB resynchronization status and process, does "sidbengine.log"? if the DDB resynchronization or the "convertddbTov5" operation will impose any restrictions on the ability to browse or resto

Hello All We take adhoc backups every day for patching activities and we search for each and every client in Command Center and trigger incremental backups for those clients(more than 100 every day). Is there a way that we can trigger the backup for these clients using RESTAPI. Foreach through these clients and trigger the incremental backup. I was able to authenticate and generate the authentication token but cannot trigger the backups for those clients. Its my first time with RESTAPIs. Would be grateful if someone can point in the right direction. I am using PoweShell. Thanks

Hi Vaulters, Regarding SAP HANA, we’ve got two sites, first one being replicating its SAP HANA to the second (using HANA replication). With commvault, how can we manage this type of scenario ? Do we only need to back up data in the first site, or do we need to implement another MA on the second site to back up the replicated data also ? It's more of a design concern. Any provided suggestion would be appreciated. Regards.

Hi,We will be adding 2 more expansion modules (160 slots and 16 LTO8 drives in total) for out tape library. I haven’t done this task before, so I wonder do I need to stop the Commvault service on all of my Media agents when I do the detect the new expansion modules with the Expert Storage Configuration? Thank you.

Hi,What are the plans for adding OS patches to the Commvault software repository? Same as hyperscale?i know there is a CMR for it for a while. We want to prevent that we need to redeploy the FREL’s each time or do manual actions on the FREL for regular basis. thanks

Hello  In Commvault, the available snap engines for HPE include HPE 3PAR, HPE EVA clone, and snap. HPE MSA is not listed among these supported engines. so question arises: Does the Commvault HPE IntelliSnap engine provide support for HPE MSA? if yes, which one need to select? thanks

Due to the lovely time of the year (which is all the time) we have auditors wanting to know every nook and cranny of Commvault. The current ones are wanting to know the full list of each specific process and Services that Commvault would be using on the client and media agent. I found this document <Click Here> inside the documentation which displays certain services and processes, but still missing a few like BlrSvc and CIMgrS. I just need to compile the name, if its a Commvault or OS process or service, and a brief description of what they do.  Is there something like that somewhere? 

Hi,We have a Domino 12.0.2FP1 server, what has succeed daily Notes database backups (Incremental, Full), but transactional backups failed with error: [CreateIndex index processing failed - no index archive files.]::Client [OST0VWMA02] Application [CreateIndex] Message Id [234881129] Error code [14:105]Our Commvault version is 11.28.56The Client and MA have enough free space on disks, MA was restarted. Transaction log backup running for seven hours, error messages are repeated. Uploaded logs are from a short trying, what was killed. But error messages can be seen.Most interesting part of the JobManager.log for me is: “ArchiveMgr Failed to get valid archive file.” and “Set pending cause [CreateIndex index processing failed - no index archive files.]”Can it be any Domino Server issue? Because it is an upgraded Domino server.We have an another Domino 12.0.2FP1 server, where tran log backups has no any issue.Does have anybody any idea?Thanks in advance.

I’ve started to integrate the api within Databricks. With common script and managed to extract all client / sub Clients using the documentation provided from customer Support.I asked internally to our SysAdmin that manage CommVault,  to give me an extraction of the data from CommVault (All Clients).The list given from sysAdmin does not match with what I extract from API ( Like 4000+ hostname in mismatch).My Question is :Has someone encountered this issue? Shouldn’t route /Client return ALL  and I Mean ALL clients that I see on CommVault application? Why do we encounter a mismatch between API and commVault Extraction?

Hi, I’m looking for some clarification on backup and retention of Onedrive version history. If I’ve understood the backup correctly it will only back up the latest version of an object at every run. As described https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/130942_backups_for_onedrive_for_business.htmlWhat is the reasoning for this limitation? Retention is configured to be kept for a certain time, say 6 months after deletion, how does this affect the version history? Is versions removed from retention 6 months after being overwritten by a new version, or are they removed when the last version of a file is removed?  Regards,John Robert

i am trying to install commvault agent using push method from commcell console, but job fails with below error. i am using commvault version 11.32.23 with free licenseError Code: [68:574] Description: Required media version [11.32] with transaction Id [5494260] is missing in the Software Cache. CommServe may be installed with a lower version media. Please check the media in Software Cache and try updating the CommServe before updating clients. Source: CommServ1, Process: DistributeSoftware From commcell command center, when i tried push,  i get below error, Error code: [68:192]Description: Software Cache is empty or does not contain the packages required for client's operating system. Hi Folks,We have a setup where our Commserve is at our corporate office on the west coast. We have a remote locations in the both the Midwest and east coast. Both the corporate office (CPO) and the remote locations have their own media agents.Today I noticed that as a remote location aux copy to Metallic was processing, that it was going to our corporate office media agent first (due to the mount path?). This aux copy (just over 500gb) took almost 17 hours.With the mount path being at CPO, does that mean the aux copy goes from the Midwest to CPO to Metallic? And if so, should I create another Metallic Storage pool for the Midwest and East coast, or should I make a Metallic storage pool for each location?Or does it really matter? Hopefully, this makes sense! Thanks for looking.

Good morning, We have 2 sets of databases that need to by in sync in terms of their refresh times.  I’ll call them “ERP” and “APPS”.  The “ERP” databases will remain on Oracle for some time, but the “APPS” we are moving to MS SQL. We currently use Oracle with ZFS to snap development refreshes on a periodic but sometimes changing schedule. We have this entire process automated via OS scripts that check for a trigger, and when found, consume this “trigger” file and proceed with the recreates, which dump and reload development users and permissions during the process.The “APPS” db has ~ 100 schemas, and our plan is to convert these into 100 MS SQL databases.  After this DB is migrated, I need to have them refreshed on a known but sometimes changing schedule.I’ve read the thread here which explains more or less how to script the refreshes: In our case the DB names and filepaths are the same, so our script will look something like:Dump MS SQL Permissions Restore Production backups from serv

I'm investigating if we could blend in Activate FSO to fulfill an archiving use-case, but according to the documentation it seems Activate FSO does not allow you to pick the results and perform an archive action. The documentation only refers to  (https://documentation.commvault.com/11.22/expert/118724_moving_files_in_file_storage_optimization.html) the ability to move, delete or tag the data. Is this correct? And if that is the case then what's the reason that we do not have the ability to perform a file archive? 

So we’ve been having issues with the DR site’s CV backup.  I’ve managed to access the COMMVAULT instance in management studio, to see these lovely notes:… and:This is a system that I’ve inheirited and still learn new things about every other day.  My best thought here is that I simply need to nuke and repave (rebuild) this entire CV server.  It’s not the end of the world and would be a good learning experience for me.   But I have to ask - is there a faster way?  I really don’t think just backing up the main site’s DB and recreating everything here can be trusted (different server names, etc.) This is CV 2022 (11.28.x) running on server 2022.  Based on being CV v11.28, you might already know it’s SQL Server 2014.Thougths? Merci!

Hi,i have created a new V2 Virtual Server Agent sublient to backup my vCenter VMs.I miss this option like you see at the screenshot.In my V1 Virtual Server Agent i see this option.Is this normal? I set this option because i backup my fileserver and i want to have the possibility to restore single files from tape. Collect File DetailsSelect this option to collect file and folder information as part of streaming backups and IntelliSnap backup copies. Use this option when creating a copy for tape storage, because file and folder information is required when recovering files from tape.RegardsDennis

I have a subclient with a single 4.6TB file, that will only get larger. Since it’s one file I don’t think additional data readers are going to help.  I’m wondering if anyone has come across this challenge and has some tuning suggestions. The client is Linux and the filesystem of this file is in 4K blocks.  Based on that I didn’t think increasing network agents from 2 to 4 or increasing application read size to say 4MB would help but I tried anyway and no increase in performance during testing.The target storage does dedup and compression, so it’s currently off at the client level.

Seems I don’t see this option during SP creation. I also don’t see any information about this in the rest API docs.I’m referring to this option.
