We are using Commvault intelisnap to backup AWS EC2s, the current challenge is if a new LZ is created, We do not know in time and will miss some backups.Are there any configurations in Commvault can automatically discover this new LZ and send out the notification, so we can add the backup in time.
Need some help with a use case. We have separate help desk for different areas. The file share we are backing up has acl’s’ that allow each specific help desk access to their respect share\folders. I have different sub clients for each share and the corresponding help desk group assigned to the sub client security but i get an error stating the user does not have overwrite on restore unless I put it on the actual server security. Any thoughts would be helpful
I’ve created an export set in compliance search. The job is failing on some items, and I want to be able to provide this to the end user so they can see what is not able to be retrieved.Downloading the export set works fine; I get a .zip file with the successfully restored items contained within.The option to download the manifest gives me another zip file that appears to be full of .xml files and a few images that I don’t know what to do with.What format is this manifest? I need to be able to open it.

Hello, we are currently implementing M365 Backup on premise and I have some questions regarding the server components.I already found the other thread with a kinda similar topic and it helped, but not with everything. We are going to get new VMs as Access Nodes but for the index servers I was thinking about using our existing Media Agents. We are not planning on doing Context Indexing.So the question is: is that adviseable? We definitely have enough CPU/RAM Resources and our Index Cache SSDs have about 2TB free as well.Since most of our backups run during the night we could do the M365 ones during the day and so not cannibalize ressources, except for the disk. But there we can always add an additional one if mixing M365 and non-M365 Indexes is not advisable on the same disk.Also, how many nodes should a Index Server have? Regarding Access Nodes:We want to do Exchange, Teams, Sharpoint and One Drive. Do we need dedicated Access Nodes for each part? Or is it possible to do, let’s say, fo

on commvault v11.28. We had this occur in a transaction log backup after a Full Oracle DB backup ran. Its a “Major” severity, and I have never seen this error before and cannot find anything that describes “ok, what do I do with this/what does it mean/what causes it”.

Hi,we have configured the exchange (DAG) default subclient to back up one databse.after that, another database was added (manually) and for some reason, both of the databases were converted to full while running an incremental backupshouldn't the database that was already backed up as full just run as incremental, and only the added database will run a full backup? Howdy folks,Our current environment:One on-prem mediaagent connected to SAN for primary backupsOne off-site mediaagent with storage and jbod for DROne Commserve265TB of deduplicated data, 1 DDB, nearly 11PB of undeduplicated dataOur goal:We want to add a second on-prem mediaagent (with its own DDB and index cache) to work in tandem with our current primary mediaagent. Our idea/hope/goal is that both on-prem mediaagents (one existing, one new) would be under the same storage, deduplication, and copy policies and Commserve would load-balance jobs between the two. Both of these would then copy over to our third (existing) off-site mediaagent. We met with our Commvault rep during purchasing of the new mediaagent and he said it would be possible, but didn’t give us any specifics. Now that installation/setup is here, I can’t find any documentation on how to actually accomplish this. I’ve found everything I need to prepare for installation, and install the Commvault software on the mediaagen
Hello All,We have 2 Media Agents where the backend storage is going to be replaced with the advanced storage so that the support is available from storage point of view. We have 2 different libraries from two different media agents. So now my question is how will I move the data from the library to new library within the same media agent. The backups are running continuously and they will be running without any break. Let me know if you have reference links or steps to perform these steps.RegardsKishore
Hi Everyone! I am looking to see if there is anyone else that is backing up Microsoft AG clusters with nodes that are hosted in different geographical DCs? We have the MSQL AG client configured at the moment to backup to “PLAN - DC1” but when the DBA’s failover the cluster to another node, the backups are being transfered across the WAN from “DC2” to “DC1” Should we not configure the backups using the AG for these DBs and confgure them on the clusters nodes instead and configure the storage polices to point to the Commvault Plan for that site or is there another option? Team , how the hypersalce x , media agent handle the jobs when a failure of one job occurs , i have performed a testing where a job was running with media agent 2 of hyperscal node 2 and i shutdown the same node , 1> the running job is on running mode - and no progress 2> i started new job and it completed successfully started the node 2 and still no progress on that job and it failed .why was it not assigned to any other media agents - and why the job is handled only by one media agent - i can see restore jobs used all 3 media agent but backup is by one , do we have control on this . 3> after the nodes came up , there was a restore job happned from node 2 to node 2 - may i know what basically getting restored ?
I’m backing up a few NAS subclients that are between 10-30TB each.Currently they are scheduled to do a synthetic full backup every weekend with incremental backups every weeknight.These are then aux copied off to tape.Because of the very low change rate in reality probably 95% of what’s written to tape each week is exactly the same as the week before.The speed of the aux copy is becoming an issue as I don’t seem able to aux to two drives but drop down to a single drive when other backup jobs need the second drive.So my question is whether I’m stuck in the past in a traditional GFS mindset and I should look at the “Automatic Synthetic Full” backup option?All backups are kept on disk and tape for a minimum 30 days and extended retention keeps monthly full backups for a year.We have a stupidly quick media agent with an NVMe dual partitioned DDB so in theory we’re doing best practise so the synthetic fulls only take an hour or two each but the 5 days auxing the lot to tape is painful and i

Hello all!In our environment, we have created a temporary copies within our few storage policies - (call them copy 6 and 7). Those were tape copies. We have keep some backup there for 2 months, but it is no longed needed. We do not need those copies within those storage policies any more. But for now, even if they are no longer any backup retained on this 6-7 copy, we do have a lot of “Big Data Apps” jobs retained on those copies.We would like to delete those copies because it interferes with our “workflow” which picks jobs for copies and it's keeping to mark them to copy for 6-7 copy. (even if copy is disabled) So my question is - what exactly this Big Data Apps is? It is some kind of Index, am I correct? If those “Big Data Apps” are stored on copies 6-7 are there any dependencies for other copies, other jobs keep in other/same storage policies?Can we just delete copy 6-7 from our storage policies even if they are still those Big Data Apps stored on it, and it won't affect the rest of
