Hi All,Currently we are using KeySecure (version is 8.4.3) for managing encryption keys for backup and restore in CommVault. We will be decommissioning the KeySecure soon and would like to know if its possible to import the keys to CommVault inbuilt key management system for existing backups before decommissioning the Keysecure so that we could still recover from existing backups using inbuilt KMS.  Also for future backups we would like to use the inbuilt key management server of CommVault which I think can be simply done by changing the key management server to be used in the Storage policy settings from external one to inbuilt. Thanks, Nazish

Hello,on my AWS environment,I have 2 Windows MA and a linux machine that is used as a proxy to backup EFS (AWS NFS like)Sicne yesterday the linux proxy machine stop responding.When I connect to AWS console I see that a lot of volume labeled_GX_BACKUP_SnapJob_210219_vol-086b61f123938a8f4 are mounted on it.I dont know why these volumes should mounted on the Windows MA.How to find from where they are mounted ?I want to know thaht before investigate why the proxy is down. I think boot filesystem is corrupted. Thanks !!

Hi team, IHAC who runs Qumulo file server and performs it’s backup using CVLT + StoreOnce.Customer has a big concern about too long scanning time for backup so they’re about to apply this feature, Change File Tracking option on their environment.CVLT version is FR24 and I read this URL content but no any detailed procedures.Optimized Incremental Scans Using Qumulo Native Change File Tracking APIs (commvault.com)Can customer use this option to reduce the scanning time for the subsequent backup job?Please kindly let me know how to turn on this option from CV or Qumulo side. Thanks a lot.

When I setup a HPe Catalyst library I’m getting the following message after I enter the information for the library, host user account etc: it does detect the store Ok, but when I click on OK. I get the alert “Installation Directory look up failed for given mediaagent”. I have same media agent configure for another Cat library on different storeonce ok. I change the Media agent to use a different one, it finishes Ok. Anyone have any ideas.

Hello, There is a problem where if I am not mistaken - failed/killed job will no longer show logs for that job or events because it is aged out. I have a situation where customer comes and asks why we had failure 7-10 days ago - and I cannot answer because I cannot view logs for that job. I have tried to check some settings in media management>data aging and found something similar to it:“Days to keep the failed/killed backup job and other job histories” - it has 90 days on it, but I think it’s only to show that job in the history of jobs?

Hi,I am looking to run an in-place upgrade on the operating system on our Commserve Server from 2008R2 to 2012.  I have cloned our commserve server and tested this out but getting few issues after upgrade has completed.Before running the upgrade i made sure all CV services/Jobs were stopped.  Also stopped the SQL services.I get the following issues:The "Commvault Communications Service" and "Commvault Server Event Manager" services do not startup.  These seem to continually try to start then stops again.  All other services start fine.Also i was looking to run a repair on the install but it saying "unfinished installation detected".Has anyone came across issues like this?

Hi, Does anyone happen to know if it should be possible to restore an ACL when restoring to a UNC path? We backup a UNC path (using Network Share Client, generic for CIFS Azure Files) and the ACL from a file or directory is restored when restoring to a local disk, but not when restoring to the source UNC path.Thanks!

In my current environment I do have a certificate installed but that has an expiry till 2030. So need to re issue a certificate however issue is when i apply for the keys I am not sure how to push them to commvault and the rest steps.

Our VxRail configurations have one vSan datastore.  When kicking of a Live Recover, a second data store is needed.  However we do not have a second store to use.  What is recommended for Live Recover restores to VxRail?

Hi, I am wondering which port is needed to use the command line from a different machine than the CommServe. Is it for example the same port as for the CommCell Console, port 8401?Thanks!

Hello,We have determined with the help of CV support and Azure support that the fastest possible restore of an entire VM within the Azure environment (even within the same region) is 60Mb/s. The limitation, according to Azure, is that CV writes the VM as a single page blob and the max throughput for that is 60Mb/s.At this speed, restoring an entire VM of any significant size would take far too long to be acceptable in an emergency situation.Has anyone run up against this limitation and how have you worked around it? Or does anyone have any suggestions on how we might do so?Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Few quick questions regarding some pre-defined CV console alerts. I am unable to find this information online Unusual job activity alert. What does code 14:300 mean? This is default as the alert is enabled Do we need to expanded this alert to include more codes? Increase in data size Does this include alerting on VSA and NDMP as well? If no to above, would we have to install an iData agent on each VM to allow alerting? Thank you for your time

Thank you all in advance for the input.  (first time poster)I have an issue I can’t figure out and I’m tired of beating my head against the wall.  We are moving away from using tapes as our secondary copy (archive copy).  We have recently setup Azure cloud storage policy copies for our archive.  I have attempted to mirror the policy copy settings between the tape and cloud copies as much as possible.  We have 3 copies - weekly, monthly, and yearly, each with a different retention, and 3 different storage policies.  We started with the weekly copy and all seemed to be well.  When I created the monthly and yearly copies, the job selections didn’t meet my expectations.  A few examples:  duplicate jobs would show up in the weekly and monthly, or monthly and yearly.  Meaning a job that I would expect to a monthly (first weekend of the month) was in the weekly job list. The yearly jobs don’t seem correct at all.  We want the first weekend in Feb of every year to be our yearly copy.  However
