I have five subscription in one Azure region, plan to deploy MA & VSA in each subscription, plan to deploy one Commvault server in the region. Any logic to select subscription for Commvault server? for example, the Commvault server should be in the subscription which  request more backup demand, or ping result is less than 200ms, etc.

Hi Community, I’m facing an issue, and maybe some of you already experienced it. We had a client associated to a storage policy, which was working fine, we added a new MA and created a storage policy with this new MA. After that, we wanted to associate the client to the newly created storage policy in order to use the new MA. After changing the storage policy, we faced an issue with backups, indexing wasn’t working properly, which we fixed by changing the index server of the backupset of the client from the old MA to the new one, and now we are facing an issue where we cannot restore anymore (Below a screenshot).Please note that we restarted all services for all Commserve, old MA, new MA.In the DATA RECOVERY JOBS summary, we have a CommServe Management jobs with the storage policy index as

The instance is running under user domain\x and the backup is running under domain\y user accounts.  In the reports we get the message:   Full access permissions not found for User [papstar\ora-home] on registry [SOFTWARE\CommVault Systems\Galaxy\Instance001]]. I am a little unsure about how synthetic consolidation works.If you run only a synthetic backup on a given day and no other backups, will that synthetic backup contain data from the same day?Or does it have to have an incremental backup running just before in order to capture data from the same day?BRSteeler

hi, i was working with a customer who has long running synthetic fulls.which disrupts the Incremental backup schedule. so we entered as we used to normally do for indexing V2 clients the bjMAllowIncrWithSynthFull add setting.but it does not seem to work, and i am not able to find a reference to the setting in the latest documentation.is this still available?  kind regards, Thos Gieskes.

Has anyone creates a backup report that list full and differential backup? I tried to save the job summary report but it changes after I change it. It looks like the changes are not permanent.

Hello Commvault Community, I need to change the Active Directory domains to a new one (new name, new user accounts, change of Hostnames for Clients) - I already have a plan on how to do it. I would like to make sure that the plan I have prepared for myself doesn’t have any missing elements. I have the biggest concerns when changing the domain for CommServe (whether everything will flow without any problems on the SQL database side). The environment runs on the SP24 version, all configured Clients have DNS Hostnames. For example, there is currently the domain "ABC" and it’s to be changed to the domain "AB". On the DNS side of the server, we plan to add a second record with the target domain - "AB" for each Client, then the Clients will run on two DNS Hostname, but the recognizable one on the Commvault side will be one - old domain. Plan:1. Create an account with "Master" permissions.2. DR Backup.

Hi experts, I got two questions from a customer about Oracle table restore.Could you help me on this? 1. Assuming customer performs Oracle Dash Full(synthetic/merge) based on NetApp intellisnap, can CVLT do table level restore from merged full backup image?(Is this a feature provided from complete full backup image?) 2. Customer runs disk library which is configured with object storage, can we do table level restore using object storage repository? Please kindly let me know if any further limitation for table recovery.Thanks.

Let us say you have a backup that for various reasons stretches over three days.We have days 1, 2 and 3.Backup “window” is from 1700 hours to next day at 0800 hours.Backup starts day 1 at 1700 hours end on day 3 at 0800 hours.During work hours on day 2 and 3 files are changed, deleted and replaced on the server we are backing up.What data will be in the backup when finished on day 3?Will data from day 2 and 3 be there or does CommVault make a delta snapshot file on day 1 that contains the data that will be backed up?Steeler

What is the best approach to Migrate Linux (SuSE 12) Media Agent to Linux (RHEL8.4) VSA and Media Agent?

Over the past year I have been elbows deep into system governance and this brought me to loving Activate .This AM I woke up to check reporting and noticed that ALL of my projects were reporting “ No data found” following by a Command Center alert “ Failed to get Schema, Make sure Analyitics Engine is reachable”Me being .. well.. Me, I knew right where to look. My index server and content analyizer were up and active, so- naturally i rebooted them. Just incase an update snuck in there.After reboot the issue still exists. Anyone else have this issue? I have opened a ticket with Maintenance advantage on the lowest priority. I would like to see if we “ The Community” can resolve this issue together.
