Feature Update Install Failure 11.80.23 > 11.80.24

Greetings!Attempting to apply a feature update going from 11.23 to 11.24 however the install has failed during the upgrade. The Setup installer displays the error code: [Error: Failed to update Web Server(WebServer) with error code 0x80091007] - a few of web searches seem to indicate that a possible hash mismatch may cause this error code - I have verified the authenticode signature of the underlying .msi file as valid.I have reviewed the install.log file and have not found any other reported failures or errors.Any advice or tips on where to look next would be appreciated

Has anyone replaced the self-signed java certificates with an in-house certificate chain?  What is the default keystore password located in (DRIVELETTER):\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore\Apache\mykeystore.jks Anyone?  Bueller?  Bueller?  Bueller? Thanks!

Can the CommServe installation created during Testing CommServe Failover Using Disaster Recovery (DR) Backups procedure be maintained after the test? Do I need to turn off the server or to shutdown Commvault Services?

SP upgrade and Livesync

Good evening all I've never upgraded a Service Pack in a LiveSync configuration. I know that you usually run the 'install updates' command on a secondary commserve with the 'do not update db' parameter. In a LiveSync configuration, do you install the Service Pack on each commserve and treat it as the primary during the upgrade or install via command line and 'do not update db'?  Thanks,Mauro

Commvault Command Center does not show PostgreSQL databases

Hi,We are backing up PostgreSQL systems with block-level at customer site. We are doing individual db restore from commcell console but our customer wants to do this from command center. In Instances tab i can see PostgreSQL instances but in Databases tab it says no results found. Is it possible to see PostgreSQL databases in command center like MS SQL databases?Commvault version is: 11.20.60 Instances Databases​​​​​

Sharepoint: Site Collection Backup

@Ron Potts Looking through some documentation for Commvault, i have found what seems to be conflicting information, and would just like to have it clarified if site collection backups are supported or not.This documentation, under “Note” says “You cannot back up site collections.”Configuration Decision for SharePoint Server Agent (commvault.com) While this documentation says “Site Collection Backups Set: Full Backups” with a checkbox as supported.Supported Features - Microsoft SharePoint Server Agent (commvault.com) So if site collection backups are supported, can someone point me to the documentation on how to configure this correctly ? I’ve tried several variants, but none of them have worked, or atleast not done what i expected them to.

Hello, I am trying to copy maintenance release to software cache but I have this error message. Copy hotfixes is skipped for [C:\Users\commvault\Downloads\Commvault_Maintenance_11_22_22_linux-x8664.tar] because the media is not available for it. I have copied the windows package without any issue.Also do you know where I can find all commvault error codes ? Thanks !

File Activity Anomaly support and No data available

Hi, Just to confirm. The File Activity Anomaly detection does not work in Linux clients. It works ONLY in Windows clients that have 11.23 or a more recent feature release. Right? The documentation cites two types of reports: File Activity Report for Backup Job Anomalies File Activity Report for File-Related AnomaliesOne of our File Activity Report in the Command Center have “No data available”. What can be done?

Backup of SAN volumes with Media Agent as Proxy?

Many of our servers are using SAN volumes, so snapshotting those volumes from Hyper-V or VMware is not possible. We have installed the Windows File System agent on all those servers and are performing backups of the SAN volumes. Our SAN is connected to the hosts over fibre channel. Obviously it would be possible to connect one of our Commvault media agents to the fibre channel, present the volumes to it and then use the media agent to backup those volumes as a proxy. Is that advisable though? I can’t find any documentation on doing this...

HyperScale 1.5 Reference Architecture OS disk RAID level

Hi, we currently have a customer running HyperScale 1.5 Reference Architecture on SuperMicro hardware. They report that the OS disks are currently configured in RAID0. (details are already requested) They found out the hard way, and would like to change it to RAID1. Can anyone tell me what the (default) config options for the OS disks are? Hardware RAID, Software RAID, RAID1, RAID0? And also, what options would we have if we would like to reconfigure that to RAID1? Would it require a reinstall (I believe we can keep the Storage Pool data)? Or can we manually reconfigure to (software) RAID1, and is that supported? Thanks in advance!

The Mongo DB and Commvault - what exactly does it do?

Hi Team, We are about to upgrade our older version of Mongo, which has been causing a few problems with log-files ballooning out. Technically, we are all good with the upgrade process, but I actually don’t know what Mongo does in regards to the Commserve (thats where Mongo is installed). Does anyone know?It would be useful to understand, that in the unlikely event that the upgrade goes pear-shaped, then what functionality or impact to Commserve functionality might we encounter? That would also help in presenting the upgrade change to the customer, who will most likely ask “what is the impact if the upgrade goes wrong”, as they normally do. So if anyone knows, please shout-up! Thanks.

SLA down after updating to 11.24.12

Hi, Yesterday I have updated to 11.24.12. But after installation, I found that it’s now showing my SLA is 28%. Missing SLA includes only the VMs and they are only 4-5 days old and backed up on weekly basis. If I am not wrong SLA period is calculated if there is no backup within 30 days. So is this a bug of this release 11.24.12? Thanks for your answer in advance. Sumit

Migrate Disk Library on Windows 2008 to Windows 2016

Hello Community , We have windows 2008 R2 media servers with EMC disk library .  Want to migrate to windows 2016 can we directly do SAN level migration and attached the LUNS on Windows 2016 (Not sure will that work ). Looking for better recommendations . We dont have enough space to do Move mount Path .

Scan Phase Timeout

Hi All, we are trying to backup and very large cifs netaopp filer. We have implemented an NAS proxy for acessing the shares.  When we start the job the scan phase broke every 3hours.  We tested with an smaller folder / share the scan phase runs in 5 Minuts and the job starts to backup.  Is there any additional setting to increase the timeout for the scan pahse ?

Sharepoint backup is very slow

Some facts:Version 11.24.7Sharepoint 2016 (on-prem)SP DB backup speeds: 15-25 GB/hr (So not superfast, but atleast it finishes in a reasonable time)SP Documents backup speeds: 1-1.5 GB/hr (So basicly superslow) Some background information:I am a storage guy, who’s recently been put in charge of the backup solution, due to people leaving. While i’ve worked some with other backup solutions before, thats 10+ years ago, so my backup skills are a bit rusty compared to my storage skills, so bear with me if i need things spoon fed :-)Also, the Documents parts of sharepoint have been split up in about 10 different subclients, and this performance issue is affecting all of them.Also, for other backups being run by Commvault, i see very different backup speeds. For instance full backups of some MSSQL servers can provide speeds of 500-3000 GB/hr, so i know the backend of the backup solution can handle a lot higher speeds than what Sharepoint is giving us. Now, if i try to drill down a bit on one

SSO issues on webconsole

Hello, I am facing an issue where SSO is not working for webconsole :|Setup that I have: 2 commcells, 1 centralised webconsole/metrics host. Web console is attached to master commcell and 2nd commcell is a child commcell attached to webconsole.So, if I am logging into webconsole server itself and to try open webconsole page - it is asking for credentials. I believe it should not due to the fact both commcells have the account in users. I am logging into commcell itself with that account and SSO with no issues.So I was browsing logs on webconsole host and found this: But within the commcel, SSO is enabled in domain controller settings: Maybe someone knows the magic trick to fix this?

Syslog filters for Alerts and Events

Is there any way to provide filters for Alerts and Events that are forwarded to syslog?  I’d like to at least be able to filter out Information events to eliminate noise to syslog which is then uploaded into splunk (at least for our company.
