End Users are allowed to access their own mailbox through Web Console.Is there a way to allow them access to the Shared Mailboxes they have access to?

Can i exclude certain databases (tempdb, model etc.) on a plan/policy/server group level.The goal is to group servers which uses SAP Sybase database instances, and exclude databases which is not used.(tempdb, model etc.)Otherwise I have to edit each subclient, and exclude those databases, on each server. Hope you guys can help.Thank you. 

Hi CV Community, We have acquired a company that has a chunk of data in Egnyte’s cloud.  If possible, I’m to try and back this data up, before they start trying to port it into our Sharepoint and other services as deemed appropriate.   Anyone done this? (and how did you?) I’m not seeing a lot of “we did this” sort of commentary with google searches, and I get no hits for dealing with Egnyte data in CV’s manuals or KB site. Thanks, David K

I’m on v11 SP16 and have inherited a system from someone who is no longer available.  I am not incredibly well versed in CommVault, so forgive any wrong explanations/terminology if I do not describe this well. Background:We have several Clients that have been “disabled for backup” at various levels (some at the client level, at the subclient level, or both), probably due to retiring of the underlying server (working on this info), but some clients are still backing up some things (like the filesystem or a database) and other items like a different database on the same server are disabled for backup.  The jobs for these “deactivated for backup” *should* have aged off due to how old they are.  Some have been written to tape, others have not (but still years old, way past retention).  I know I can “release the license” on the client and delete it in some cases, which will remove the jobs, but i don’t necessarily want to do that in call cases.It appears some “old decommed” subclients have

We have two File system servers configured MS Failover Cluster. We already installed File system core & File system agent in both nodes and then added cluster client.Created new subclient under the cluster client and then content trying to browse the Drive and folders.We are not able to browse any files under few folders.While running backup it's scanning only and not able to start the backup.The specific folders inside files are encrypted using software. Log error: FolderWatcherOps::Run(113) - Failed to get the filters from registry. Hi all,I would like to remove the email for a commcell user profileI’ve tried from Commcell console but it’s not allowed. I’ve tried from command line (QOperation.exe) but using an empty string has no effect. Is it possible to remove the email?Thanks in advance

A customer of ours uses FairCom C-tree as database and requires an application consistent backup.C-tree comes with its own VSS writer which is registered as “c-treeACEVSSWriter”.Is it possible to do a FileSystem backup an invoking this VSS Writer to freeze and thaw the database?Thanks for guidance.

Hello, Everyone.I have a REDHAT linux 8.3 client i have been trying to onboard for a while (Trying to install SP22). It gets to the SERVER/GATEWAY name, I enter the commserve name, it tries to reach the commserve but it says SERVER could not be contacted.I have opened port 8400,8401, 8402 and 8403 for two-way and one-way but connection ends up writing the same error.PINGING and TELNETING works both ways.I don’t know if there’s any help that can be rendered, please.

I have the following  issue in Oracle  environment , N:B,When i had the below error in  windows files system box,by re-installation,the problem was solved.Now the issue is in an oracle environment/Clusters.In an attempt to solve,i restated commvault services, re-installed commvault,confirured network pairs and still the issue persisted.Our backups are not backups through firewalls.No need to disable anti-virusAny tips/solution to this issue? Thank you.Happines

Hi there,we are dealing with a strange issue. In the job controller there is an error messageError Code: [32:408]Description: Enterprise backup capacity license is required to run jobs. Advice: Please contact customer support for additional license.Source: XXX, Process: JobManagerHowever, in the license summary report there is unlimited number of licenses for Application Class 1,2,3 and 5 used licenses out of 400 for Application Class Virtual - Oracle Databases which is our case. Do you have any idea how to check Enterprise backup capacity license ? Cheers!

How can different retentions be implemented for Exchange Online Backups?For example 30 days on primary copy, and 180 days on secondary copy.One can create a Storage Policy / Plan with such retentions, but as Exchange Online uses dedicated Exchange Policies for retention, this won’t achieve the desired outcome.A mailbox can only be assigned one Exchange Retention Policy, defining how long the messages are retained for after receiving them / them being deleted, but that will take effect on all assigned backup copies.Due to size and cost limitations, having one retention for both copies is not an option unfortunately, so I’m wondering if this is possible at all.One idea could be to run periodic full backups (archive but select “convert to full”) and then have the secondary copy on selective, only using the monthly fulls for example. But this will create massive overhead if we have to run a full backup of all Exchange Online mailboxes once a month or so. Plus, I don’t think with that would

Hi,I’m configuring O365 mailbox backup through Command Center since this is the way to configure using azure AD. I understand that the backup/ archive of O365 is incremental forever. My audit required me to have the monthly copy of my backup to be stored offsite (tape). For O365, how can I achieved this? Can I add Full backup at the plan level? Since synthetic full is not running at all.Regards,Fauzi

I might be missing something obvious but is there not a way to schedule a one-time/ad-hoc backup of a single database from within either the web-based Command Center or the desktop CommCell Console?To clarify:I know where you can backup a single database, on-demand, from the web-based Command Center and I know where you can schedule a one-time backup of an entire instance/subclient but I don’t see where you can combine those two scenarios to create a scheduled backup of a single database.

Does anyone else find the User Permissions overly complicated/not intuitive? Using the built-in “View” role applied to a user group at the Comcell level seems as though doesn't actually give “View” on everything.Example: “View”  only shows Command Center dashboards Overview and Activate. No virtualization or Hyperscale?Are there any best practices from a Ransomware perspective (without the obvious least permission statement) to give a user access to the whole environment for monitoring purposes, allow to backup/restore but prevent the ability to delete any data?Thanks

Hi guys, The Customer is trying to get an access to DR Backup SET folder (Commvault Cloud).https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp20/article?p=131053.htm However, after log in to the cloud.commvault.com he cannot see the CommCell Dashboard section. I asked Pragya to set the Customer’s account as a Parent Account Owner, but the CommCell Dashboard section isstill not visible for his account.   Is anything else that we can do to unblock the CommCell Dashboard section for the the Customer’s account? Rgds,Kamil

Hello -We just moved a Commserve to a new Virtual machine using the CSRecoveryAssistant.  I am switching my customer over to the command center as we are refreshing media agents and storage.  When going to the dashboard, all I get are “oops something went wrong” multiple times.  I assume it is pulling info for the various tiles and can’t.  Is this a SQL issue of some sort?  What can I do to troubleshoot this?  Also, we are unable to see existing SQL clients in the Command Center.  That may be normal but I wasn’t sure.Thanks!

Hey all - I am working with a customer and we have the command line backup for a SQL instance working just fine using an xml file.  What we can’t figure out is how do we do just 1 database on the instance?  We see the api call in command center but it doesn’t translate to the xml.  Anyone have the magic command?  We tried adding <databaseName>xxxx</databaseName> right under instance in the xml. Attached a sample of the xml.
