Hello, I’m trying to restore some files from a Netapp volume in Intellisnap to the drive of a Windows destination. But I receive this failure :Failed to start CVNRDS Process on host xxxNo files are restored

Good morning all I’ve had a strange request from a customer and I don’t know if it can be actioned.We run SQL agent backups on a set schedule and restore DB’s as one normally would. The DBA would like to know if there is a way to take the DB backup we have and restore it as a *.bak flat file. The reason for the request is that disk space on the client is constrained anda *.bak file will be compressed.Thanks in advance. Regards,Mauro

Good morning allI”m using a Plan to configure backup policies, etc.I would like to disable the option to do Incremental backups and only run Fulls. I’ve not been able to do this within the Plan. I need to go into the GUI and disable it in the Schedule.The Plan does update with an ‘invalid data’ error, which isn’t a massive issue. However, I’d prefer to use a Plan setting to disable this. Am I missing something?I’ve attached a copy of my current setting and not made the chante yet.  

I’m in a similar situation as kszaf.  Running FR 11.24 and have 5 .NET CORE and ASP .NET CORE installs of version 2.1.xx.  Our vulnerability scanner (Qualys) is showing them as critical vulnerabilities, so I went ahead and uninstalled them since it sounds like 11.24 should support 3.1.x. Rebooted and couldn’t access the Web Console.  Installed the .NET 2.1.30 Hosting Bundle and the Web Console works again.  I’ll probably put in a support ticket on Monday to see about how to remove those older versions properly.  The screenshot shows the ones I tried removing.  

Hi,When opening the subclient settings for an SQL server the Block Size and Maximum transfer Size are grayed out. Only Buffercount can be altered.Any idea on how to change the grayed out values?Sql version is 2016Commserve is at 11.22.41Thanks in advance,Kris

 A customer is protecting Oracle running in a failover cluster between Solaris Local Zones. Customer is currently using TSM and want to switch to Commvault. In TSM the Oracle databases are protected with the Oracle Agent running in the Solaris Global Zone only, there is no agent in the Clustered Local Zones. This means that no matter in which Local Zone the Ora DB is running the backup and restores will work without setting this up as cluster client. The question is if this is possible in a Commvault setup or if we are required to install the agent in each Local Zone and then configure the cluster client in a traditional way.  Appreciate if anyone has experience of a similar setup has any input if this is at all possible and if so any  pros & cons.Regards,/Patrik

I have a quick question. There is a customer I am currently proposing, and they say that they are using mysql 8.0, use pluggable authentication as their authentication method, and use SHA256 encryption. (https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/sha256-pluggable-authentication.html) Does Commvault support the above environment?I looked for BOL, but it wasn't mentioned.

Hi Guys, I need your help. Here’s the scenario. The Customer needs to mount a disk to a client before Scan phase, then backup needs to be performed and after job’s completed disk needs to be unmounted. They decide to set Pre Scan and Post Backup Scripts with the following configuration: With Full backups everything works fine. However, if Inremental backup runs and there was no changes since last backup, Backup phase will not run. As a result PostBackup process will not run and disk is still kept as mounted to the client. I suggested to client to change settings as follows:So, we’ve got 2 sets of script:PreScan process - to mount a drive / disk PostScan process - to unmount a drive / disk PreBackup process - to mount a drive / disk again PostBackup process - to unmount a drive / diskHowever, the Customer is not very happy with the solution I provided.Do you know any different way to mount a disk to the client and unmount it after job’s completed, even if backup job ends on Scan phase? 

Hello Commvault Community,  Maybe you have an idea why there is a problem connecting to the Edge Drive via a laptop from a network other than the internal one. Unable to connect an off-site laptop to Edge Drive. Laptop is not added to Active Directory, it works in a workgroup. Authorizing access through the Edge Drive configuration to a domain account. An error with authorization to the given user account appears in the logs (the account and password are entered correctly, the ability to log in to the webconsole). Access infrastructure via DMZ and installed server with firewall issued port 8403. Network topology - network gateway (laptop) configuration between defined Laptop Clients groups and Commvault infrastructure servers. If the laptop mentioned above is on the internal LAN then everything works fine. There seems to be a problem handing over communication from the Webconsole server in the DMZ to the Commvault on the internal network. In the attachment I am sending screenshots from

And in the Description is written Automatically cloned by system and the association count is higher in the clone one ! And ideas, should he just open a support call ? 

Hi!I am looking for any advice, tips, pitfalls to avoid, things we should consider and such, with regards to plans for getting from the current commvault installation, to a planned new commvault installation. Current Installation:5+ year old (but updated) installation, with 1 virtual commcell, and 4 physical media-agents, 2 in each datacenter. When viewing a list of Client Computers, one available column value is Update Status which will show Needs Update when necessary. And when viewing the client computer properties, the Version tab shows some more info.Previously when I was running 11.13 in Version tab, there was a section that shows Update status and shows a table of various packages and hotfixe updates that need update. But since upgrading to 11.21, that section appears to have been removed. I’ve attached a screenshot showing that section in the older and newer builds of the Version tab.Just wondering, in 11.21 and newer builds, is there an area where we can see the Update status table showing the packages and required hotfixes?

Hi.. Setup:- Two Client groups.- One client group contains clients- One client group contains Media AgentsA Backup Network using CIDR is configured according to: https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=107131.htm The Media Agents have multiple IP addresses in different networks ofc... They have an IP address for the frontend (to which the CS connects to) and one for the Backup Network. Both of these IP addresses are statically assigned.. Clients ofc have multiple IP addresses too... One for the frontend (to which the CS connects to) and one for the Backup Network. The frontend IP is static, but the one for the backup network is a DHCP one. Dumping such a client into the client group sets up the DIPs as expected according to the Network Summary seen on the MAs. Backup also works as expected using the DIP.The issue is that when a client changes the IP address on its backup NIC, it doesn't seem to be updated on the CS or MAs. Backups stop working as the MAs try to cont

My company has adopted a new standard for service account passwords:  Min 20 characters, must contain uppercase & lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.  My current password for the root account on the three nodes of the HyperScale on HP reference hardware does not meet the new standard so I have to change it.Does anyone know how to change to root password on these three servers?  Is it just done via the Linux command prompt or is it done through the CommVault GUI somehow?Thanks in advance for any information.Ken
