IHAC who currently has their Commserve on v11 SP13 and a number of other components on SP11. They are aware that some of their MediaAgents which are running Win 2k8 R2 are unsupported if they try to upgrade beyond SP11 but they are asking whether they can upgrade the Commserve and some of the other (supported) MediaAgents to a newer SP. Table attached shows components and versions. Please advise.

Hi,Doing some testing around mysql protection. Do we have an option to backup whole mysql instance using xtrabackup. Default configuration do :for all discovered databases; do xtrybackup ...[]  --databases dbname; doneIt would be nice to have an option to protect whole instance at once. In case of lots of databases under instance iterating by each database can be time consuming. Thanks. 

Hi, I am looking for a possibility to export the file list of a browse. A Customer want to know the content of the backup with a listing of all files. The Backup was made with the NDMP Agent. Maybe someone has a solution for me. Kind regardsFlorian

Hi All.I configured file archiving with the required configuration. Windows 2016 Server with local disk where all the files reside.Archiving and stubbing is working as expected. I am also able to restore the file as data out of place to the same or different server.However when trying to recall the file by double clicking the Explorer Windows hangs up. The recall doesn't progress. The Persistent Recovery job start but there is no progress.I have added the below Additional Settings on the client which is also the Media Server.GXHSMRECALL_ENABLE_EARLY_DRIVER_NOTIFICATIONStageRecallsGXHSM_RESTUB_ENABLEDThe server has Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.x installed. The Security team has confirmed that all the settings contained in "Symantec® Endpoint Security v14xAV Settings for Windows File Archiver" is configured. I have requested to have the AV temporarily disabled to test but are yet to receive feedback.I have restarted the services and the server but this does not improve things at all.B

What is the benefit to use intellisnap on a Netapp storage VS use VSA VM and ask Vcenter to make snapshot on each VM and mount the vmdk on VM proxy to make the backup (hot add).It’s not clear for me thanks.

Hi there!I would like to get familiare with Commvault Endpoint Protection solution, however I am not pretty sure, how to access it.Is the Commvault Endpoint Protection a part of Backup and Recovery solution? If I download Commvault Complete™ Data Protection trial version, will I be able to test Endpoint Protection as a part of it as well?Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

But this is quite fresh instalation.In more detailes I see that problem is with table "APP_ReportsHistory" 109 MB dbmaintenance  -full was performed. How we can turn this parameter? Regards;Pawel

When changing the Commserve Email configuration is there a service that should be restarted to ensure the new configuration becomes active? I have recently updated the email configuration however the emails are still using the old configuration (From Address, SMTP Server Address).Thanks in advance for any response.

I am seeing many different ways to run reports in CV, but none simply list ALL the machines configured for backup (whether active or inactive or virtual or not).  This is an Audit requirement to produce a daily report of ALL machines to compare against another baseline for coverage. Also to monitor when devices are added or removed - reporting when the count changes.  Unfortunately I am having great difficulty creating a report, as well as getting ALL the machines defined in the report.  Would anyone know how this can be accomplished?

Hello,We are trying to set up our Postgres DB to use blocklevel backups. Our system is PostgreSQL 10.13 running on Linux RH7. The backups run without an error. I can see all full and incremental (logs) that have been done over the last several days. After preparing the server (getting rid of the /main file and all log files) I started from the web interface a restore to current.After about 15 seconds the Progress indicator goes from green to yellow (Shows 10% completed) and I get the the error message : Received failed message for job [258820], phase [Restore]Event code 19:122After that the only thing I can do is kill the Job amd go back to my older normal backup. CommVault can restore that without a problem.Thanks for any help!Douglas

Hi, Setup is something like MySql is running on a windows server and HDPS is also running on Windows platform. Mysql server is behind the firewall. Required ports have been opened for backup and restore work. Taking back up can be done successfully but while trying to restore any backed up database, it is giving an error. Hello,is someone maybe knowing if its possible to export the O365 backup data including the metadata? For normal iData agents the CCM function can be used. But if we read correctly that isn’t supported for exchange data as example. thanks.Michel

I want to create an Alert Defination for Some 5 VMs which should send email notification to someone email id on Backup Failure. 

Commvault has some white papers and even a Hands on Lab regarding Ransomware and using Air Gap as a layer of protection.  There are also YouTube videos on the subject.  There is no official Commvault documentation regarding the subject.  Is this Air Gap intended for companies with public facing servers to utilize a DMZ proxy to copy data and configurations inside a firewall?  Should this be used within a private network?

Hi, Reporting question again (I consider reporting a very important part of the product).We  export reports to PDF, for example backup job history.Problem: the number of records are limited in PDF , based on max size of records, not sre.For year reporting that’s a problem for us.Is there a way to increase that limit?

New to CV and found that the previous guru created schedule policies under two different user id instead of a generic id.  I’ve tried modifying but no joy.  There are several and I really do not want to recreate as that is open season for errors.  What method am I missing?

I have a VM with a vendor application that uses SQL Server Express database.  Does the CommVault SQL Server agent support backing up SQL Express databases?
