Just in the past 3-4 days - we have been getting notices of servers powering off after they receive a vm snap from commvault. Its a pretty broad issue and nothing is really a smoking gun now. The only common trait is ; the same vm’s that were part of a recent migration are ones that are doing this. I was thinking about forcing a storage vmotion to true up any delta or split vmdk’s that could be causing a timeout on the snap. From the commvault side the backup is completing. - but the vm is shutdown. I will look further into properties but wanted to drop this here.

Has anyone creates a backup report that list full and differential backup? I tried to save the job summary report but it changes after I change it. It looks like the changes are not permanent.

Hello Commvault Community, I need to change the Active Directory domains to a new one (new name, new user accounts, change of Hostnames for Clients) - I already have a plan on how to do it. I would like to make sure that the plan I have prepared for myself doesn’t have any missing elements. I have the biggest concerns when changing the domain for CommServe (whether everything will flow without any problems on the SQL database side). The environment runs on the SP24 version, all configured Clients have DNS Hostnames. For example, there is currently the domain "ABC" and it’s to be changed to the domain "AB". On the DNS side of the server, we plan to add a second record with the target domain - "AB" for each Client, then the Clients will run on two DNS Hostname, but the recognizable one on the Commvault side will be one - old domain. Plan:1. Create an account with "Master" permissions.2. DR Backup.3. Adding the "Domain Controller" in the "Security" tab and assigning the newly created user

Just discovered the cvpysdk module. Looks very promising :-) Documentation is lacking examples, or snippets.Leaning by example is a nice way to get to know this module.Anybody willing to share examples ? Thanks in advance !

Hi experts, I got two questions from a customer about Oracle table restore.Could you help me on this? 1. Assuming customer performs Oracle Dash Full(synthetic/merge) based on NetApp intellisnap, can CVLT do table level restore from merged full backup image?(Is this a feature provided from complete full backup image?) 2. Customer runs disk library which is configured with object storage, can we do table level restore using object storage repository? Please kindly let me know if any further limitation for table recovery.Thanks. 

Hello Guys,I have a question: My Commvault licensing is 3Tb, and i´m using 1.8Tb:And i bought A Fujitsu Tape LT20 Library and the license of this library acquired doesn´t count in the licesing  of Commvault File Library, Is it Correct?if any one have a site explain this.Thanks  

Can the “Install Windows Updates” workflow be used to “properly” install updates on CV Media Agents?  I know it *can* -- because ‘Media Agents’ are a client group that I can select in the workflow. My question is more along the lines of “does the workflow handle Media Agents properly” -- as in stopping all the services and making sure SIDB/SIDB2 processes are stopped, putting the MA into Maintenance mode (so as to avoid alerts), etc, etc. We’re using WSUS to push updates and are basically gonna have to write batch/powershell scripts to stop services and make sure SIDB(2) is not running…. but if the workflow can do that for us, then that would be freaking awesome :)

Let us say you have a backup that for various reasons stretches over three days.We have days 1, 2 and 3.Backup “window” is from 1700 hours to next day at 0800 hours.Backup starts day 1 at 1700 hours end on day 3 at 0800 hours.During work hours on day 2 and 3 files are changed, deleted and replaced on the server we are backing up.What data will be in the backup when finished on day 3?Will data from day 2 and 3 be there or does CommVault make a delta snapshot file on day 1 that contains the data that will be backed up?Steeler

Hello Community,I have many LTO that contain backups from another commcell (Commcell A). I want to add the jobs of these LTOs in the commserve database (Commcell B).So Commserve know the jobs and can restore in the Commcell B. Next, software encryption is enable on LTO Copy in Commcell A.Is it possible and how ? Thanks :)

What is the best approach to Migrate Linux (SuSE 12) Media Agent to Linux (RHEL8.4) VSA and Media Agent?

Over the past year I have been elbows deep into system governance and this brought me to loving Activate .This AM I woke up to check reporting and noticed that ALL of my projects were reporting “ No data found” following by a Command Center alert “ Failed to get Schema, Make sure Analyitics Engine is reachable”Me being .. well.. Me, I knew right where to look. My index server and content analyizer were up and active, so- naturally i rebooted them. Just incase an update snuck in there.After reboot the issue still exists. Anyone else have this issue? I have opened a ticket with Maintenance advantage on the lowest priority. I would like to see if we “ The Community” can resolve this issue together.

I need to know does commserve allow a DASH Copy to be DASH to Cloud or are we only allowed to use AUX Copy to Cloud?

Hi all, I am looking for a way to automate tape changes, and I’m trying to find a report/workflow that can list all scratch/full tapes in a library, alongside with scratch media that are exported. I am already testing some workflows, but the main problem is that I cannot find the correct operation to list the tapes in a specific Media group or in a specific library. I searched on the documentation as well but couldn’t find it, does someone alredy know the correct operation that I need to perform? Hope you can understand my writing. Thank you all in advance.

Hi commvault Champs , Please clarify my Doubt on network gateway :  we were under assumption that if we dont want to extend our Backup VLAN to the client ,  we need to get a network gateway trough which our backup data will flow through backup VALN to end storage .   But today we configured MSSQL always on DB backup and we had network gateway setup , But backups kept on failing till we configured MSSQL instances with Backup VLAN DIP .  If this is the case do we really need a network gateway ?  what is actual purpose of it ?  why do i need to configure backup VLAN DIP on MSSQL ( Always on ) instances for the backup data to flow when i  have a network gateway server ?

Hello, Is there any way to restore deleted backup job. I am missing some backup jobs from lastyear, So i wonna know if i can get it back. From backup summery report i can see that the back up completed but i cant find any job. And the retantion are set up correctrly.
