Hi guys, I need to do a DR test for the commserve server.Do I have an option to recover to another server without stopping the services on the production server?the second question: how can I revert back the services to the main commserve?

For weeks now, the DR backup has been ending with errors.We have reviewed the log and events. All,I am currently implementing Hyper-V 2012 with Intellisnap for CommVault V11 with Netapp array.There isn't much information/best practices on how it could be done.  I have done a bit of research andcame up with ODX on Hyper-V 2012.  Apparently it causes a lot of headaches.   Also there are also instances where AVHDX files are not removed after a backup is doneI would like to ask:1.  Is it worth disabling ODX feature to ensure stability for Intellisnap backup or should I leave it enabled2.  Are there any hotfixes which needs to be applied to the Hyper-V 2012 server to ensure that it works and stable3.  Do I need to install the Data Ontap VSS provider or will the Commvault hardware VSS provider be sufficient?4.  What are the ways to avoid having those remnant AVHDX files even after the backup completes5. Any additional settings within CommVault to implement to ensure that the CommVault Hyper-V intellisnap backup works?

Hello,i need to add 1 more Mount Path to the existing library, does anyone have a procedure or the link in the Commvault, the SAN and Storage(LUNs) configuratin part has already been done, it remains to add, need best practices, example: Use Round Robin, etc.Best Regards

Hello everyone,I have a situation that I couldn't find in the documentation and in community here in how this could be done properly.We have a attached disk as DAS in the Media Agent and we have the need to move all the backups of the VMs to another place which will be a Cloud Storage.Is it possible to move all the backup data and after this change the subclients to this new Storage that we need as well?(Sorry for my bad english, btw ).

Newbie Alert! Hello Everyone I am new to Commvault I took over an environment which has more than 200 storage policies. These policies were created as a result of plans created using command center. We have more than 2000 VMs and 200+ filesystem clients and Databases. I was wondering how should I approach the cleanup. Is it a good idea to use plans for larger environments, because as a result of single plan there are multiple configurations created automatically.  Thank You

The Tape Storage Matrix is getting quite “interesting” over time. I am not sure why there are still references to outdated unsupported OS’s and architectures, but that’s more of an comment than a question. I’m trying to verify whether a drive is on the matrix and not coming up with anything. Under the filter section there’s no windows OS. Hmm. If I search for T50e, Windows 2008R2 is the newest “supported” OS for it? What? Is this to say if I call in a ticket for a newer OS on that autoloader might support tell me “sorry Charlie”? Latest code for that unit is BlueScale12.7.07.03-20180817F, it’s not in the Matrix at all. Not sure how to take this or not. Anyone have a similar situation. Plenty of life left in these units and still fully supported by Spectra. Will LTO-8 work?thanks

Hello,  In Commvault 11.20 Commcell I have a number of hosts that have user files and folders located on OneDrive attached as a contents of drive C:. As a result of backup job I face the following messages  [C:\Users\user1\dir1\subdir1\file1.pptx] [0x18B 395] Access to the cloud file is denied.[C:\Users\user1\dir1\subdir2\file2.pptx] [0x18B 395] Access to the cloud file is denied.etc.  Is there an elegant way to filter these OneDrive content out?  

Is there a known documented  process to migrate Commcell’s to a dedicated private metric server? Currently the metrics server sits on a CS and the Comcell env is growing rapidly.I was tasked with creating a plan of action and any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! 

Hi, is there a way to know how much a server/client is using unique block in the back-end storage when Global dedupe is involved ?So If I deleted the server for Commvault what’s going to be the free space free up ?

We started using Active later last year, ( Amazing for those who have not deployed this yet) and while the file system projects are useful and abundant, I am wanting to add our exchange servers. Does anyone know if you can use just the DB of the exchange server ? or does each mailbox have to be collected within commvault for the crawl/scan to work?

Hello, this might not be enough info but I’m trying to restore a VM and keep getting this errorError Code: [91:32]Description: Unable to register virtual machine [SERVER]. Possible reason includes datastore was not mounted correctly.Source: CVMA01, Process: CVDLater these errors only occur: Error Code: [32:392]Description: Volume Operation in Progress : [One or more volumes are being processed by other operation. VolumeId [543702]]Source: CVMA01, Process: CVDI have the job log files but can’t really make sense of it. Its pretty much nothing but errors and fails. 

Hi there! Could you please explain here why there is discrepancy between Application Size and Total Data to Process in the Job Controller view? My assumption is that there are some leftovers from previous backups, that need to be backed up/to be copied. Or is there any other reason?

Hello, I need to know the minimum permission to be able to see a server in a user webconsole please? I see “end user access” in a role’s permissions, but clicking it + view permission is not enough (and associating this role with the client) I can allow this access by setting the user as owner of the client, but is there a possibility through roles please? It would be more easy and efficient for me to manage it at this level. Thans in advance. Regards.

Hello Commvault Community,Referring to my previous topic which was marked as resolved. Link below.  The problem reappeared. There was single problem with the job, but it worked properly later. However, looking back to the past, this problem occurs cyclically all the time, for no major reason. This time it showed up with a specific error code. On June 3, an error occurred while generating the HealthCheck report. (screen 1-2). The problem was marked with error code 35:481 - the description is very general and does not indicate any particulars.I have reviewed the logs initially, but I cannot determine what the problem may be. Hello all,the topic at hand is well discussed here in parts.Other that discussed there, we have a slightly different situation. Here, VMs which consume socket licenses from old / non-existing Hypervisor hosts are decomissioned as well. Hence a Full / Synth Full, which would release the license, is not possible.So deleting the jobs would be the only way? For yearly backups of those VMs this is not an option. What would be the best way resolve this? Would creating a new subclient and moving the VM to that be a good way? Any other ideas? All help is appreciated.Thanks.
