Hi, I have a customer who as a HyperScale 1.5 of 3 nodes, each node as a network configuration in mode 1.If we want to switch to mode 4, is there something to do beside stop Commvault services and Gluster services before rerunning setupsds to change the networking mode ? Hello everybody, there is a requirement from the Customer to identify the nodes which are currently backed up in Commvault. There are some nodes which runs once in 30 days. To make sure all the nodes are covered, I am planning to generate a job summary report of last 40 days in excel and sort with "remove duplicate" option to remove duplicate entry and share with Customer. Please let me know if this is the correct way or I am missing something.

Hello Commvault Community! Today I am asking you about the alert / notifications that will inform you about the backup for a particular VM’s.As you know, the backup job for the vCenter group - for many virtual machines perform one main Job, which is later divided into individual jobs for each virtual machine.The client asks if it is possible to receive notifications / alerts about the completed jobs for individual VM’s?I have checked the settings in the schedule that is performed by the vCenter group backup. I gave the appropriate options, but after the backup was completed, one alert came that the backup was performed. (screen1-2) Before this alert, there were no other messages about the completion of jobs for individual virtual machines.Hence my question is it possible to create / set an alert or a notification to inform when virtual machine X will be bought back. Thanks for help, Regards,Kamil

I’m very new to Lustre FS, so having some challenges. We have the backups working correctly so that’s sorted.When trying test restores to the same target, we’re seeing the below error:24813 6105 07/14 13:57:36 24576 FsRestoreUnixObject::handleError(4892) - Write data error = 9 I can see the directory structure is created during the restore process, but all files fail to restore.I’ve tried to restore a file to another location and am seeing the same issue.Has anyone seen this, before I engage support for assitance?

Guys, good morning.I am starting to create the Backup Virtual Server in my Commvault environment.I always backed up my virtual servers using the FileSystem Agent.My question:By deploying a backup routine with "Virtual Server" on my virtual servers, I cancontinue backing up with "FileSystem" agent, is it a good practice? or it is not necessary to back up with the FileSystem agent, as I will now deploy a virtual server backup area.------- Pessoal, bom dia.Estou iniciando a criação do Virtual Server Backup em meu ambiente Commvault.Sempre fiz os backups dos meus servidores virtuais utilizando o Agent de FileSystem.Minha dúvida:Ao implantar uma  rotina de backup com "Virtual Server" nos meus servidores virtuais, possocontinuar fazer backup com o agent de "FileSystem", é uma boa prática? ou não é mas necessário fazer backup com agent FileSystem, já que agora vou implantar uma área para backup de Virtual Server.

Working with DB2 on AIX for our SAP AFS Application. Approx. 4TB database split over 4 logical volumes in an IBM Virtual IO environment on IBM Power. This backup takes 20 to 26 hours. Below the statistics in db2diag after the backup. I am working on some command line automation and need to disable/enable an alert. I see that qoperation execscript is what I need but not seeing a qscript that will do what I want. Looking to disable an alert. Then the opposite to enable it.Many thanks!

I have multiple sites.Each site has the typical setup, commserv media agent etc.I have enabled livesync at one site as I brought online another commserv and now I am looking into GRC. I don’t see anything that says it connect be applied. Just that its not intended for what livesync does.

I took the last backup tapes from this site and put them in a tape library of current site.how can I restore (a VM in this instance) from the tapes of the old site while they are in the library of the current site?now the tapes from the old site are marked with no entrance sign

Hello, on a new site, I have deployed a commserve and 2 linux  physical media agents. Media agents do not have FC or ISCSI cards. I need to use 2 VM for hot add. Can I use linux VMs are Windows ? Thank you

i having an issue that i need to restore vm in the huawei vrm. the error is as below : Error Code : [91:42]description : unable to open the disks for virtual machine [VM]. Please ensure that the proxy is able to communicate with the ESX host and resolve the ESX host address. also verify that the disks types configured to the virtual machine are supported. **backup without any issue** i use commvault to backup virtual machine in Huawei VRM.thanks 

Hi,we use Commvault Simpana 11 and we backup our Citrix XenServer VMs.This works fine.If we want to restore a VM is it possible to restore it to vSphere? Or only to the original enviroment?Or is it necessary to use converting tools like Starwind Converter etc.?RegardsDennis

Hi there,My colleague is facing the following issue. He wants to monitor Commvault using scripts. With my help he has installed powershell modul into Commvault. Then, we have executed the script from the Windows server (locally) and everything works well. However, we are not able to execute powershell script remotely - from the diferrent machine than Commvault is running. what happened if we expand disk in our vm that covered on commvault? do i have to reconfigure on commvault app again? or it still can backup without any impact?Thank you

Hi,One of my customers has a physical server which has the following installed:  It is also used as a Web Server for Search and recalls. This server needs to be decommissioned so we need to migrate these roles to a new server.I am especially worried about the recalls and I’m a bit lost in all the different Mailbox Archiving namings.Any suggestions on how to figure out what type of archive/recall methods is used? And any idea how I could migrate these roles to a new server?For instance, during Setup.exe I do not have the option to install the “Exchange Mailbox Archiver” agent. Is it included by default in the “Exchange” package now? I don’t think I will see a “Exchange Mailbox Archiver” under the client after I install the “Echange” package… Any help or suggestion is greatly appriciated!

Hello Commvault Community,  I have questions for you about the operation of the Commvault Deduplication mechanism on the server (Windows Server 2012) where the Windows Deduplication mechanism is also working. I realize that it is not recommended to use both mechanisms at the same time. My guess is that if files are deduplicated by Windows Deduplication then when backed up by Commvault they are deduplicated again by Commvault's Deduplication mechanism. If not, please explain to me what it looks like. What if the Client wants to use the Restore jobs to recover such deduplicated (possibly double files)? Are they recoverable or if there are problems and you find that the files are unrecoverable. Another question, what in the case of archiving on data deduplicated by Windows Deduplication, will they be able to be re-duplicated and later archived by Commvault? Can only new files that are not deduplicated by Windows Deduplication be backed up? From the Commvault archiving documentation I foun
